Bobby Richey is a good one. White was at WKU for one season. If hes counted on Stansbury coaching tree would pass. Will Junior leave?

Slightly surprised at this move. I guess more money and a better chance at an at-large bid. Not a move up in other ways though- IMO.

No wonder he didn't want to play in a tertiary tournament

RE: Eric Konkol leaving Tech for Tulsa
I can't see Dusty May leaving FAU, who is about to be in a multi-bid conference. Richey would be a terrific hire, but I don't see him leaving so soon after "removing himself from consideration" at South Carolina. LA Tech is a known quantity that should draw tons of interest though.

Konkol leaving for Tulsa is interesting to me too. I know the AAC is multi-bid, but Tulsa is basically the LA Tech of the conference where they're not great on cash and overachieve regardless. Wonder if he saw how competitive CUSA was about to be for a single bid and opted for the smaller pay raise over the high-major one that may never come.

Whether or not Lofton stays or not after this is going to be the biggest off-season story for CUSA hoops barring a coaching change at UNT or UAB.

It will be interesting to see if Lofton follows the coach to Tulsa.

As for a coaching change at UAB. Not gonna happen. Andy Kennedy will retire at UAB.

Why would Dusty be a candidate, FAU hasn't fired him.

We're all definitely aware. We are fortunate that most of the desirable jobs were filled while we were in the NIT. May get lucky and get another year out of Mac.

We have had our last two coaches hired away and neither made the NCAA tournament.

That is pretty unbelievable in a way-- it makes no sense. Just shows how much college BB has changed.

Lofton is evaluating a move to the NBA. Grant McCasland appears to be the leading candidate at SMU.

So Coaching Changes is a parody account now? If Grant does leave, to SMU or wherever, Hodges is your guy.

Reputable sources in Dallas are disputing this claim about SMU and McCasland.

Here's an interesting thought... McCasland might be using SMU's interest to shack additional concessions out of UNT (assistant's salary pool, operating budget, practice facility renovations,...). North Texas has the money to commit more resources to basketball. SMU might just be giving them a reason to do it.

Today McCasland picked up an extra $81,000 for leading the Mean Green to another success season.

You are going to raise him to $2,000,000/year
Triple asst pay?

If you do it, glad we can take money away from your football program

We don't have to pay him $2 million or triple the assistant's pool to keep McCasland. We just have to continue prioritizing basketball and pay him enough to stay.

I told you Baker is a basketball AD. Money is important, but institutional support and priorities are just as important. McCasland knows basketball is a top priority at UNT. More money at SMU doesn't equate to a higher priority within the SMU athletic department, and Mac can reach every goal at UNT that he could reach at SMU. The Ponies aren't a major basketball program either.
