You built it too small to begin with. No forward thinking by Charlotte.05-nono

clt says not so fast, pal. in 2011 we weren't even in cusa yet, and planned to play FCS for a while. we got the call up, and made the move.

the stadium was built to be expanded, and that was a wise decision. giant concourses for easy expansion and the utility infrastructure is already in place.

Yep, anyone that thinks we should have built a 30k stadium for FCS isn't thinking straight. Either that or they were commenting without knowing any details.

So Charlotte was only thinking FCS, thus the smaller capacity stadium? That's small time thinking. Should have had FBS on your minds to begin with. 30K.

They did, that’s why it was built to easily expand which is what they are doing now. Why is this concept so hard for you to understand?

Blows my mind we have a fanbase that can't fill a 15k seat stadium walking in with stadium smack. They can't sell out a home game vs an in state P5 team, and now they want to double capacity. At the very least it will give the few that show up a lot of room to spread out. I'm sure the AAC will love how that looks on TV.

Nothing is guaranteed, but we have the desire and resources to do this, so here we go. Fortune favors the bold.

It's funny how the line was used for a Crypto.com ad. Which was also an exercise into dumping a ton of money in a bad premise that tanked immediately.

EDIT: Thanks for posting your expansion plans. Had not seen/remembered those.

And in the world of college athletics, planning to expand is just that. Planning. It could be close to a decade before Charlotte's stadium seats 30k and the AAC extended the invite before anything was public on the expansion. Phase one won't be much, if any, bigger than ODU's stadium, no?

Expansion is happening much sooner rather than later. I would bet phase I is already funded and they're hoping to raise $$ for the $30k expansion so they can do it all at once, but again, ODU's stadium is pretty much a hard stop at the current capacity. They are definitely NOT planning to expand at all anytime soon. There's a difference there.

Unless you are plugged in to our AD i am not sure how you can say that. I am glad you guys are excited about your expansion but don't go around saying **** that doesn't hold water. If you are talking about putting renderings together with out money in hand and calling it a grand plan then we have done that already so..

You guys just completely overhauled your stadium and did nothing for capacity. I like your stadium size personally, but thought you should have gone a little bigger. Do you have plans for expansion we all don't know about? Anyway, was just pointing out some differences in what MTPiKapp was posting. He was comparing our situation to yours. Apples and oranges.

EDIT: thanks for posting the renderings, was not aware of those. I still think you should have gone a little bigger when you did.

Its been a long time, but I believe once the north end zone is redone it would add additional seating. At the very least, it would remove the current eyesore we have.

Congrats on the expansion! Its a wonderful looking stadium.

clt is right, ODU fans are bitter that it’s not included in Phase 1.

Nah man no way, you gotta put money into the tennis facilities. I just don't understand why y'all would put so much capacity into the football facilities and so much less in the tennis facility. Smh fam ya gotta follow the fans on that one.
