I wonder why some predictions have utsa in 3rd to 4th place?

My guess is most of these prognosticators spend little time or effort researching G5 teams. They just make wild crazy predictions. It's interest reads but they usually miss the mark on many.

I think they also see 2 players drafted and 4 players signed UDFA’s and they assume we’re depleted. UTSA still has their quarterback and top receivers returning. The #2 running back returning and we picked up some great backs off the transfer portal. We also filled out our defense with some transfers. Our lines are to be determined but I don’t think there’s going to be a huge drop off there either. Time will tell but I think this one is really low.

Clearly, there was fraud, as per usual.

UTEP went to a bowl game, and has most of its players coming back. They should be ranked higher.

These people don't care anything about mid-major programs. They aren't doing their homework.

I guess a combination of Tech's stability as above-average for the past decade and everyone's high expectations of Cumbie. Honestly, I do think it may be hasty to expect fourth. He's trying to change up our offense and there will definitely be growing pains.

It’s not meant to be. I just see a new coach and a rough year (by LT standards) last year so I’m curious what I’m missing. Obviously I’m trying to learn more about y’all since we will be seeing a lot of each other moving forward.

I do think Cumbie will be a good fit. I wasn’t sure if there was a big time transfer or something else coming.

There's no way UTSA will finish in the top half of the conference. They lost all of their players from last season.

Charlotte is such a shot in the dark, the offense will be top of the league quality but the defense is a huge question mark. Last year we had one of the worst defenses in the country. This year we have a whole new defensive staff and an experience heavy squad. With even a slap average defense we could be a contender. But who knows...

I'd move Tech down one and UTSA up one, otherwise, that's how I am seeing it. 8,9, and 10 is a toss up. Hope FIU can win a couple.
