Conference USA Concludes Leadership Discussions
Quote:DALLAS – Conference USA wrapped up a series of membership meetings with its Board of Directors, Athletic Directors, Senior Woman Administrators, Faculty Athletic Representatives, and Head Coaches for football and men’s & women’s basketball over the course of the past several weeks, concluding with an in-person meeting in Dallas on Monday with Presidents and Chancellors comprising the C-USA’s future membership.

These engagements provided an opportunity for significant planning of the new look Conference USA and were the first in-person meetings ahead of the league’s transition in 2023.

“I believe I speak for the entire Conference USA Board of Directors when I say that we are excited about our new members and the energy they will bring to the conference. We’re looking forward to another outstanding season of highly competitive collegiate athletics, and I’m encouraged by the conversations we had at this year’s spring meetings.” Conference USA Board of Directors Chair and Western Kentucky University President Dr. Timothy C. Caboni said.

The Conference USA Board of Directors appointed Sam Houston State President, Dr. Alisa White as Vice Chair. Additionally, Middle Tennessee State President, Dr. Sidney A. McPhee and interim President of Florida International University, Dr. Kenneth A. Jessell were appointed to serve as members of the Executive Committee.

Attendees dedicated time discussing the future of NCAA Division I athletics and the impact those changes would have on the membership, which included the work of the NCAA Transformation Committee, the evolution of name, image & likeness, and the current challenges within the transfer environment. In doing so, the group engaged in several strategic conversations to best embrace these changes in a proactive manner, providing the conference and its membership opportunities to be at the forefront of collegiate athletics as leaders in this space.

The membership also discussed future conference scheduling philosophies, reviewed the 365-day college football calendar, approved the slate of 2022-23 SAAC student representatives, and confirmed the championship sites for the 2022-23 athletic year.

And y'all wonder why we're hostile towards the SB3 and SB members in general.

Sorry guys. I apologize, I couldn't help. I'll see my way out. Really didn't mean to offend, more of a joke about the leadership and not about member teams. Peace out
