If we're talking Pac-??, I'd say the Arizona schools are your most likely candidates.

RE: Sam Houston Intends to Play Annual Game at NRG Stadium in C-USA
Announcement via Rob Hipp's Hello Huntsville about a title sponsor for the Sam Houston game at NRG Park against Air Force. Van Wagner who is involved in driving business to the athletic department was responsible for ORWF's involvement in the game.

Quote:Sam Houston Athletics has announced Operation Red Wings Foundation as the title sponsor for the upcoming gridiron matchup between the Bearkats and Air Force Falcons scheduled for Sept. 9 at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

According to Bobby Williams, Sam Houston Athletics director, hosting an inaugural home game in Houston against Air Force is an exhilarating opportunity.

“To have our first home game at NRG against a name-brand service academy like Air Force, is going to be extremely exciting, especially in the Houston area for our alumni and the many individuals who have served in the military,” Williams said.

Operation Red Wings Foundation’s primary mission is to provide veterans and their families with a path to healing from their invisible wounds. Through a series of free therapeutic retreats, they give veterans and service members the tools necessary to heal from post-traumatic stress, mild traumatic brain injury and chronic pain.

Not sure if they will stay at 9 conference games after USC and UCLA leave but right now:

Arizona: booked until 2034, @ Tech in 34
ASU: booked until 2030 and has games @ TXST in 24 and @A&M in 26
Cal: booked until 27, game @ UNT in 24
Colorado: booked until 32 with games at TCU in 23, UH in 25, SMU in 31, and UNT in 33
Oregon: booked until 30
Oregon St: booked until 28, game at Tech in 25
Stanford: has an away opening in 26, game at TCU in 27
UTAH: booked until 30, game at Baylor in 23 and UH in 26
Washington: lots of opening after this year
Wash St: away opening in 25 and then more openings after 28.

There were some years where teams might not have had 3 OOC games scheduled but already had one away game so I just assumed they'd be a no go for two away games.

If things stay the same I dont see that much space and most of these schools have plentyof Texas trips as is. On paper Washington has the most openings and would seem like the most likely but theyre also one of the bigger names so maybe not due to snobbishness.

There's some schools that have San Diego State on their schedule too!

Would love to see the Kats play Wazzu or Washington. Not sure what their respective followings are in Houston area, but if this is how we get P5 games at home particularly until the necessary upgrades occur in Huntsville - it's all good in my book.

Very surprised to see that only Arizona State(28/29), Cal(24/25), Oregon State(23/26), and Washington St. (24/25) had SDSU on their schedules

SDSU can only play 4 OOC games per year.

And the Pac-12 teams were only playing 3.

You can't play everyone all the time.

That's one if not two PAC-12 teams a year for San Diego State; got to remember that the PAC-12 schools regularly travel to California and SDSU likely wants no business scheduling more than one if not two P5 games a year, even if home-and-home; but either way... Sam Houston could be the beneficiary of the SDSU addition to PAC-12 if for anything adding a '25 game to the schedule at NRG.

Here's an absolute wild card as it relates to the NRG game... UTEP at Sam Houston as a rivalry game played at a neutral venue?!?!

Keeler mentioned it'd be nice to play that game 45 minutes away instead of traveling to El Paso every other year...hints at it being our NRG game, not a fan, I like bringing in other schools

That's obviously better for y'all. I guess the trade off for UTEP (who will still be traveling 750 miles is recruiting in Houston.

OR they could consider a 1-2-1 or 1-1-1-1. Some mixture of venues. One or two NRG's with a couple of True H-H's mixed in.

Houston is a great recruiting area but giving up a home game every other year would mean UTEP would only have 3 home conference games those years. I don't see that much benefit for UTEP unless they can arrange an additional attractive ooc game in El Paso.
