All time record vs Marshall: 0-1 (2015). The Herd beat the spartans 45-7 after getting behind 7-0 just three minutes into the game. The Thundering Herd then reeled off 45 unanswered points led by Chase Litton's 4 touchdown passes.

Summary: Being an FCS program, it's hard to find a lot of information on Norfolk St. and what their team will look like this year. They were a mediocre team last year that had a below .500 record in their conference. They averaged 33 ppg while giving up 30 ppg. After playing Marshall they will travel to play fellow SBC member James Madison the following week. This is a game The Herd should run away with from the start if they come out ready to go.

The Herald-Dispatch ran a preview of Norfolk St. last month that has a little more of an in-depth look at the Spartans. But I do pretty much expect this to be a "name the score" type of game.
