Interesting that NBC is looking for another conference for extra content Big 12 is mentioned.
Problem for Big12 is that BigTen goes first and whether NBC bids on part of the BTen contract.
Dude, seriously? ESPN has the SEC, and FOX has the B1G. Do you really think NBC will outbid FOX (who is presumed to have an exclusive early negotiating window)? Put another way, NBC will likely never have the chance to bid because the contract will be finalized before bidding goes to the open market. Any overflow from FOX will not be of sufficient quantity to support “shoulder programming.”

RE: Notre Dame looking for 75 million from NBC
The likelihood of NBC getting a big piece of the big is small. I have no idea if ND will get 75mil, but high 60's to mid 70's sounds probable to me. If they get 68 to 75 mil plus their piece of the AAC deal they will be right up there with the Big/SEC schools. If NBC is ready to add more College FB programing which is available during the day, the B12 is the logical grab. I expect the B12 and NBC can not speak right now, but it is quite possible NBC is channeling some interest and idea of what they are interested in through back channels. If what NBC has to offer and wants sounds worthwhile, you hold off until exclusive window closes, and then see what is on the table, If what they want doesn't sound good enough you go ahead and get best deal from Fox/ESPN you can.

If Comcast makes a play and buys part of the P12N and uses Peacock as a streaming option. They can sustain. I wouldn't be surprised if the Pac-12 becomes the Big 12 and sits at 10 members for the next decade. It's an academic conference mostly.
PAC staying at 10 is my thought too. With the academic snobbery of the PAC I can't imagine they would invite any CA St schools (SDSU & Fresno St) or MWC schools. They may attempt to add a couple of B12 schools but the B12 GOR is pretty imposing & the PAC can't offer enough to overcome it. And of course WA & UO are likely trying their best to jump to the B1G, another obstacle.
This seems to be a go-to line for Big12 folks, but it assume a Big12 school would leave immediately. Any Big12 school added to the PAC could/would just wait it out with OU/UT until the GOR expires. USC/UCLA aren't leaving for two years anyway.... Spend a year at 10 and then welcome in the newbs from the Big12.
It amazes me how many do not understand the difference between an exit fee and a GOR. This frequently is misunderstood by many vocal individuals on the realignment boards too.
GOR means all your media rights stay with the conference for the duration of the GOR. You can leave to go to another conference, but the money generated from any media on your rights gets paid to your old conference, not your new conference, for the duration of the GOR. For the Big 12, the existing GOR ends in a few years, hence OUT staying a few more years.
Exit fee is entirely different. Every conference is different. For Big 12 is is two year distributions. This is about $80 million. The duration for that is 99 years, so essentially never expires in our lifetime.
So back to your misguided opinion........if a Big 12 school waited a few years, they do get out of the GOR, but they still have to pay the $80 million. You think the lateral move to the PAC is gonna pay them enough to make them whole after the $80 million payment? This is why nobody is leaving unless it was the B1G or SEC calling.
Now for teams leaving the PAC, it's entirely different. They do not have an exit fee. They are screwed basically with no protection.
GOR. Its like Eazy E getting paid off Dre’s album the chronic

Peacock is a streaming service connected to NBC that needs subscribers. This puts NBC in a position to bring in BIG CF product with a good return. I have always seen NBC as a network not paying for a product, but with Peacock not doing so well, ND to the BIG could be more likely than not.

This is a big point and one that we may end up seeing some really interesting programming.
I was told that they may do some Notre Dame football content. "Insider" type stuff, behind the scenes and chat with the coach type stuff that can be run on Peacock, with the actual games being on their main channel but then they would have the rights to re-run and parallel run the games on peacock.
If ND does sign with NBC, then this all might slow down. I can see everyone taking a pause and a breath for a bit. Let the Big 12 get used to their new composition and I wouldnt doubt if the PAC stays as is, or maybe adds 1-2. I still think SDSU is in.

If Pac stands pat, adding SD State makes tons of sense. I think odds are pretty good NBC will pay ND enough to keep them. There is no doubt ND all things being equal, would prefer to stay independent. If B12 can get any Pac school to jump they will expand. Can they get any? No one knows right now. I think the Big likely expands again. Though it may be a year or so.

Totally agree with you and I find it SUPER interesting that there are reports that the Big 12 is talking with SDSU.
Long term thinking.... If I am the BIg 12 I take SDSU, now. Even if you dont take another team. IF their commissioner is smart, he boxes in the PAC and limits any opportunity to expand.
Then, in time, if/when the BIg 10 and SEC come calling, the B12 will be in a good position to pickup the leftovers of the PAC and the ACC to form the third and probably the final super conference.
I am surprised there hasn't been more actions, quicker when it comes to them.

If the B12 took SD State and Colorado State, it would really box in P12.
