RE: CFP access for 16 ?
10 Champs 6 at-large. I think that's the only way you make everybody happy. At least they're talking about it. Even Saban would have to be happy. He could get probably up to 4 SEC teams in there every year. And likely they would be better than the best of the other conferences.

I can see them milking the current system for Bama, thuh Ohia State, and Clemson for a few more years until they see dramatic viewership droping. Then they will implement a better system, but not because it's best for the fans and schools.

RE: CFP access for 16 ?
I don't really want autobids, not without qualifiers. While it doesn't happen often, occasionally a very average team wins a conference, and I don't want to see a team like the 8-4 Uconn team that won the Big East in the playoffs. I'd be fine with autobids for all conference champ who are also ranked in the top 25, or have double digit wins, or something like that. Even looking at our previous home, there were quite a few CUSA champs that weren't worthy of making the playoffs. Yes, we, and the G5 in general, need a path to the playoffs, but I don't really want to see a 9-5 Northern Illinois who won the MAC last year in the playoffs.

They just need to copy the FCS version. Why reinvent the wheel?

RE: CFP access for 16 ?
I think it should expand to 24 (I know...wishful thinking). But that would include ANY G5 ranked in the Top 24, and all other P5 schools (probably 17-20 teams in any given year). Make the Top 25 mean something. ANY system can be manipulated...But to me this is at least the best way if you incorporated quality wins, computer rankings, etc...

Rankings are skewed by personal bias not on the field results. They should have computer rankings compiled to do this. And leave the opinion rankings out completely. Same with NCAA Tournament selection. And publish no rankings until week 5. No last season bias either. Every week the computers get more accurate while the personal rankings tend to stay the same except for bad losses.

Great idea, I have always been in favor of something like this. But I can't shake the feeling that
something is going to bamboozle this with all the reshuffling going on.

Of course it will. FBS has never been for the best interest of the athlete or the fan. It's all about padding pockets and prestige.
