AAC Women’s Soccer ‘22 - UCF&USF clinch byes
UCF and South Florida both clinched first-round byes for the 2022 American Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship with wins on Thursday, October 20.

Thursday’s games:
UCF 1, East Carolina 0
Cincinnati 2, Houston 0
South Florida 2, Temple 0
Memphis 5, Tulsa 2

ORLANDO – The UCF women's soccer team accomplished multiple missions tonight, grabbing another three points, a spot in the American Athletic Conference postseason and a 1-0 victory over East Carolina on Thursday night at the UCF Soccer Complex.

Looking to get ahead early, the Knights put pressure on the ECU backline immediately. In the fifth minute, Kristen Scott played a pass back to Olivia Lewis five yards out of the box, Lewis immediately took a go and scored, placing it perfectly in the top right past the Pirates keeper. The fastest goal of UCF's season gave the team an early advantage, which it kept through the rest of the first half.

Standings through last night:

SoFlo is at Cincinnati on Sunday,
UCF hosts UH.

Regular season championship could go to winner of next Thursday’s UCF@USF finale. If both teams win on Sunday, then a Tie would benefit the Knights so in that scenario USF would have to win the game outright to win the title.

Looks like besides the top two on I-4, only defending champ Memphis has clinched a spot in the AAC postseason tournament (top 6). Three more spots up for grabs for five teams (Cincinnati, Tulsa, ECU, SMU, Houston) going in to the final two games. Only 0-5 Temple is already out.

Rice! With the last second corner kick to convert and break a scoreless tie on Senior Night! Wow!

Rice is now 8-0-0 in conference play. UAB is also unbeaten at 6-0-2. Traditionally strong UNT hanging third at 5-2-1.
