RE: Matthew ('24) and Jayden ('26) Hodge Recruiting
They are both good and Jayden has 3 more years of high school. Matthew is the older brother so obviously he has had more opportunities.

I heard the exact opposite and that Jayden was even better.
Bro, as much as I'd like it to happen, with these guys getting real money to play now, chances are very slim to none we get these top guys. And I'm sad to say, don't think a Mike Jones type is gonna come here to coach either for the simple fact he knows ODU and whoever supplies the money for these kids just can't keep up. This payment stuff is ruining sports for teams like ODU.
This is actually an interesting point I had not considered. I would guess that prospective head coaches will now be concerned with more than just their own salaries, staff salaries, facilities, recruiting areas, players lounges, TV games, fan base and support. The pool of money for player's NIL salaries (which is now the most important aspect of all in recruiting) has to be robust enough for the coach to feel confident enough that he can pay for a championship caliber team. That money will trump all the other aspects that used to be important, and without it, its probably impossible to win.
Now, that doesn't mean we have to have the same NIL pool of money as SMU or UNC or Harvard, but we do need to have some of the highest dollar figures in the Sun Belt, A10, CAA or AAC. This is one area where Wood actually excels (if he will actually direct some money to the collective). Its also an area where being in a more urban location can help because in theory there are businesses who could pay for these players salaries via NIL.

Money has always been the primary factor. BUt, yes, coaches now make decisions on what they expect to have in their NIL warchest.
I would not assume that being in an urban location will help us with NIL

We have a really solid plan with NIL. News of it should be out in the coming week or so.

Do you know if NIL money pools, and what players are paid is required to be public information? It would be interesting to see for example, if ODU and JMU were recruiting the same player, how much the program who successfully hires the player had to offer up in NIL money to get them.
Also, I doubt it will happen, but I really think the NCAA needs to consider salary caps. Let every school have a max amount of NIL money to distribute annually how they see fit. Say its $1 million. Schools could put it all towards 1 dominant player, or spread it out amongst 10. And yeah, I know the schools dont "really" distribute it... but they do.

It does not need to be public. The collective is a private entity. But if you’re close to the program, the bigger agreements always seem to get out. Once the news is public, we will have the collective’s spokesperson on the show to educate all of Monarch nation on their goals and how they plan to operate as much as possible.

Heartbreaking that he didnt even include us in his finalists. I knew it was a long shot, but would have been nice to keep hope alive. Maybe if we bring in Mike Jones as our new HC next season he brings Matthew with him. Hope he doesn't sign a LOI.
That would have been nice if we could have pulled in M. Jones and Hodge at the same time. I guess we can dream.

I know you would probably know (working with ODU), does a high school recruit like the Hodge kid get nil money to go to a college?

Yes. Some high school recruits are demanding NIL just to visit colleges now.

That sounds even more ridiculous - pay money outright in addition to paying for their travel, hotel, meals, etc. to get a recruit to visit that ends up going elsewhere. What a scam.
The "solid plan with NIL" that you mentioned .... is that information coming out related to men's basketball, football, or both? Any other sports such as baseball or girls' basketball?

Puts to rest All of the Mike Jones Maryland predictions.
VC has us adding 6-10 kid, first name Oliver, to our offer list.

Oliver Faubert is the type of guy we have been dying to get. He's a stretch 4 type with some size.
VC doesn't have all of our offers on there, there area a few that we have a real chance with.
I just saw we offered the Ellis brothers LOL

It might vary from state to state, but I wonder if a kid takes a payment to visit, does that jeopardize their amateur status in that state?

I dont want to piss anyone off by answering this before the article drops, so I will withhold until that time. If the article doesn't answer this question, I can.

How is it different than receiving NIL money?
