Most of the AAC will be rooting for Tulane for the remainder of the year. UCF and Houston fans are for the most part being respectful. I think most of us are over Cincinnati though.
I have enjoyed this conference as best I could, and really like this board...though with some posters the feeling will be mutual.
He enjoyed the conference the best he could
If anyone is going to pretend they liked being here enough that they didn't long for 45 million dollar pay raise, they are delusional.
I appreciated that the football conference rose above the rest of the non-power conferences every single season. I like that several programs really invested in football and had success (every team in the conference being ranked at some point is really good). I enjoyed hard fought games with UCF, Houston, Temple, and even Tulsa.
I enjoyed SMU and then Houston really stepping up as basketball programs and the arrival of Wichita State. I wish UConn and Memphis had held their own more, though Penny has them closer again. I thought basketball wasn't as good as it should have been (and while UC was strong for a while, it shares in the blame the last 2 years).
I like that we have a very active conference board. I have not looked to see if there is an equivalent in the Big 12, but if there is not, I'll miss it.
I grew up watching UC as a football independent and basketball in the great midwest before both moved to CUSA. UC has long history with Memphis, Tulane, ECU, Houston and South Florida. I quietly rooted for those programs to have success before and will do so again... But yea...I always felt UC should be in a big time conference. They excelled in the Big East and can do so again.
So, yea, I enjoyed this conference as best I could and will be thrilled to leave it behind.
