Massey has UCF at 24 and UC at 27 currently so I guess UCF would get the nod on three way tie. Agree?

It’s the CFP rankings. UC will likely be ahead of UCF on Tuesday.

Reason to celebrate.

Watching that literally empty sad trombone NFL stadium "crowd" yesterday on national TV it really landed how much I won't miss this conference.

Can you imagine being a recruit and watching that game? Or games at Tulsa or SMU or even Tulane this season? That's a tough sell for a coach.

The AAC is market driven but too many of those markets just don't give a hoot about their local programs

I read use CFP rankings if team wins, but if loses then composite computer rankings

Yep. They use this Tuesday's rankings.

Yep. They use this Tuesday's rankings.

It will come down to computer composite.

They'll use the highest ranked cfp team that wins next week (because they will use this Tuesdays cfp poll). If the highest ranked team loses they'll go to the computer composite. Uc/ Tulane will be the highest ranked aac teams this week in the cfp, but loser will be in tie scenario. Because the highest ranked cfp team in the tie breaker will be off a loss it Will go to computer composite.

(This assumes a Houston win)

This is how I read it as well. I think Houston is eliminated already.

I'm hoping we've saved some plays back for this one.

We actually used a shovel pass yesterday. I about fell over. We don't watch it our offense will hit the 21st century soon.

Maybe someone young on the staff can lookup these:

Statue of Liberty The play
Fumblerooski ...
Bumerooski ...
End Zone Camouflage ...
Fake Spike ...
Rabona Onside Kick ...
Hook and Lateral ...
Hidden Ball Trick ...

Great observations. It was mostly a depressing scenario for UC's years in the "6th best conference" in spite of our program's abundant success. Wishing and hoping in vain that the lower half of the conference could develop a competitive program or fill a few seats. Or that the superior programs could retain a quality coach after a breakout season. Odds are, it only gets worse for the American going forward with UC, UCF, and UH out the door.

Half jokingly, I used to tell friends I hoped I lived long enough to see UC in the P5. Suddenly the clouds cleared and the sun began shining last August when UT and OU bolted opening the door for Cincinnati. And now the Big 12 seems to be blossoming as the Pac 12 loses its bell cows. It's a great time to be a Bearcat fan.

I anticipate an epic battle on Friday with the Bearcats finding a way to win in Nippert. Regardless, it's been another excellent season and a bowl game awaits.

RE: TooLame next up!
Alright. I ran the numbers.

We use the composite of the Anderson/Hester, Billingsley, Colley, and Wolfe rankings. I ran the numbers and here are the composite rankings I have (HUGE CAVEAT: A/H & Colley are last week's rankings and haven't been updated. UCF will drop some more, Houston will move up...though not nearly enough).

Tulane: 25.25
UC: 27.5
UCF: 28
Houston: 49

I think loser of UC/Tulane is the clear favorite to play in the Conference Championship. Probably a rematch...hopefully at Nippert.

(SECOND CAVEAT: This presupposes a Houston win.)

Mark might just make this stuff up. But I like it.

Seriously, this method of determining who plays in a CCG is like a Rube Goldberg Machine the size of your yard just to make toast.

There is a method to the madness. They are doing everything they can to set it up so the winner gets the Access Bid.

I'll give them this as well - they do such a good job at creating compelling Week 12 matchups that we seem to often get the dreaded repeat opponent.

RE: TooLame next up!
If Houston wins I'd scream to the high heavens if I were a UCF fan and they finished tied with either UC or Tulane at 9-3 and 6-2 in conference with H2H wins against both and the loser of UC Tulane gets the CCG bid.

Even my red and black coke bottle thick fan goggles says that doesn't look kosher.

Just an FYI that the Massey composite rankings right now have UC 25th and UCF 28th. Tulane is 22nd and Houston is 49th but I think there are many polls yet to be added to the composite.

FWIW, the version of the AAC tie-breaker rules I saw read confusing to me tbh.

If you scroll up I go over it. There are 4 specific polls the aac uses for its composite

I get and agree that at some point, the AAC would use that 4-poll composite as their tie-breaker. I was just citing the Massey composite in relation to the quoted bolded post and its hypothetical impact on the CFP rankings in particular.

But I'm still just trying to understand under what circumstances it comes down to that 4-poll composite tie-breaker and whether it's based upon the polls/rankings coming out this week or those next week.
