Thanks! As a NE fan, do you miss football?
Sorry I'm just seeing this.
Yes, I still do miss it.
Yeah, that’s a real bummer. I also suspect that you can’t scratch the itch by rooting for Harvard’s or BC’s football team.

Nope.
I still watch FCS football games on ESPN+ or if there’s games on TV when I can.

Confirming that our players had a huge problem with footing.
Since we never got on the playing field to practice did not know about the issue. Appears we followed the advise from our supplier on what shoes to use and everybody missed it was more ice than snow.

Oh that's brutal. As someone who briefly worked for the equipment staff I have no idea how we'd handle that. Just really stupid that something so simple made such a difference during a nationally televised game.

QB Club Meeting TONIGHT!!
Please, every member, come and show your support and respect for Coach London and our team for an incredible season - - the best in the history of W&M!
See you tonight!
So what happened at the QB Club? What did the coaches and players say? What was said about the shoe situation? Inquiring minds want to know!
Thanks!

Thanks for responding! I think this loss will have a bad taste for a long time. We’ll never know what might have been.
I look at it a different way(and admittedly it doesn't work for the players who are graduating or moving on). I think they may use this as motivation and fuel for the entire offseason and early season next year. I recognize it is not the same sport, but UVA's national title in basketball in 2019 doesn't happen without the loss to UMBC in 2018. They had a goal, a mission, and developed a chemistry based on coming together following that awful game the year before.
London and the team had a great season, (a really great one) just ending in a difficult scenario. There certainly appear to be a ton of quality guys on that staff and on the team. We might be surprised at how much it motivates and encourages them to never have to go west again. Some very poor student fan behavior aside, it definitely seemed like a tough place to win for a visiting team regardless of the awful condition of the field.
In our own Tribe football history, the 2009 team was special, but perhaps the close loss in 2008 that Richmond then used to springboard to a national title provided some offseason fuel. All I know is that the 2009 team was the most focused, talented and dedicated defense that has played since my time at W&M. I bet Coach uses the Montana St. game all offseason to encourage the team.

TribePride91, I think you are probably very close to how London is thinking about the loss.

LSU beat Purdue in the New Years Bowl in Tampa, 63-7.
Misery loves company.

Didn’t see the game…but I suspect that there were no issues with ice or freezing temperatures in Tampa.
