Why does this remind me of the start of a "Nigerian Prince" email?

I assure you I'm no scammer. I could have gone on Fanduel and done it myself but I'm not sure what would happen to me (or my winnings) if I did. I needed someone in a state that allows online sports gambling to place a wager on my behalf. The bet would have been Oral Roberts to the Final Four and would have paid a pretty penny but glad I didn't do it. I would have even let the person helping me keep $1,000 in winnings.

But it's water under the bridge, Oral was destroyed by Duke, so no harm, no foul.
