With an entering class of three strong recruits, plus the return of Dani McTeer (?), I'd imagine her path to playing time is limited.

With an entering class of three strong recruits, plus the return of Dani McTeer (?), I'd imagine her path to playing time is limited.

IMO, this is the good side of the portal. Players get an opportunity to find a better place for themselves without a penalty. If she wasn't going to play for us, I hope she finds a place where she'll get the opportunity she wants.

I think Stevenson was injured at some point during the OOC portion of the schedule. When she did play her style apparently didn’t match what Coach E was looking for. Once the CAA schedule started, she was already out of E’s tight rotation. To top it off, by the end of the year Ava was on the bench but not in uniform….I saw her wearing some kind of arm sleeve (maybe it was a soft cast). Put injuries and lack of playing time together and I think she qualifies for a redshirt year. I’m not surprised that she is looking to use it (and the rest of her years) somewhere else. Too bad, because I liked how she rarely hesitated to take a shot….a trait the team might need next year now that Casey and Wagner have graduated.

According to her instagram profile Stevenson is now at Bloomsbury (D2).
