Big home series this weekend vs Northeastern. The Huskies come in essentially tied for 1st place - 17-7 in CAA, 37-9 overall. As several have already covered, Tribe needs a good showing to move into tourney position, minimum 2 of 3 to remain in contention.

Tribe has won 6 of 8 CAA series yet still struggling to remain in the top half of the conference.

On Northeastern, amazed at their success here and overall. Acknowledged as one of the premier members in the leagues largest profile sport, mbbl, they have also been a consistent leader in CAA baseball. This as the leagues northern most member and competing in a high mid major conference with southern members. They also just won the men’s track and field championship. I love their membership also considering they rank about 50th in the national academic rankings. Only thing I can’t understand given their large enrollment is why they can’t build a stronger fan base, particularly for basketball.

Got it. And I recall you said we held the tiebreaker with all. So if Hofstra goes 1-2 with their final series with Elon (seems most likely). - we would need to finish 2-4 at minimum to qualify. I like the odds - I actually think we will go 3-3 or 4-2 closing it out.

Unless there are cancelled games the last two weekends for W&M and Hofstra, the tiebreaker between the two of us will not come into play because Hofstra will end up playing only 29 conference games rather than 30 so the two teams cannot end up tied.

Also, I am spliiting hairs here, but I think that our magic number as it pertains to Stony Brook is actually only 3. 3 more wins gets the Tribe to 16-14 and that is the very best record that Stony Brook can have if it wins its last 6 games. We hold the tie breaker with them so all that we have to do is tie them.

Yes, if Stony Brook wins them all, we have to win 3 to tie and we have the tie breaker (other combinations of wins/losses as well). My hope is that SB loses a couple this weekend. Hofstra plays Elon starting next weekend, and that's not an easy draw by any means.

On paper it is certainly not an easy draw but the games are played on the field. Elon may not have anything to play for that last weekend while Hofstra might be fighting for their tournament lives. The exact same thing happened last week in CAA Women's Lacrosse. Towson had locked up the #2 seed and thus had nothing to play for in their last game at Delaware. Meanwhile, Delaware HAD to win to secure a CAAT slot....so they had a lot to play for and they easily won the match (which cost W&M a slot because if UD had lost then W&M owned the tiebreaker over them). It is harder for a baseball team to win 3 games instead of just 1 for lacrosse....but the point is that Hofstra could have a lot more incentive to win than Elon.

Hopefully W&M will just take care of its own business and not have to worry about Hofstra and Stony Brook. The Tribe is good enough to win 3 of the last 6 games. Minimize the walks and errors and things should be fine ("minimize" equalling zero would be great)!

Love the tenacity this team shows. We were down 4-0 in the 3rd on 3 Northeastern HRs and had already battled back to 4-3 by the end of the 4th. Glad to see the pitching shut them down the rest of the way and the bats got hot. Wish we could have stayed but little league practice at 5pm beckoned.

Tribe battles back from 5-0 deficit to pull out the series rubber game, 6-5.

Tribe has now won 7 of 9 CAA series.

A great 2 inning save from Prarie after a huge 7th inning rally. He got himself into and out of hot water in the 9th. A perfect day for baseball and another great comeback.
