We are no longer a nation of Americans, natural born or assimilated legal immigrant Americans. We are now not so much a melting pot as a pot with so many ingredients that don't blend well together that we have lost our national identity and our uniquely American culture in amongst all the other relatively new ingredients. Our great American experiment that stood for so long is over. We can never go back to the way things were for much of the last century.

They weren't offended by the national anthem. It's LGBTQ month and they were offended not enough of the children were gay and trans.

If you want to come to the U.S., you should be ready to assimilate. You are choosing to leave the place of your birth and all of its traditions, cultures, and ideas because you want what America offers.

In order to achieve what America offers you have to understand we are different from every nation before us. And that difference and its results are the reason you want to come here.

Diversity of shapes, sizes, colors, accents... sure, that's ok.

Diversity of language, culture, tradition... no. That's destructive.

They had 12 more words to go to finish the song. If I was conducting them we would have finished.

Their last note was the 5th chord (F). If I was conducting them we would have finished because we have to get back to the root chord (Bb) and resolve what we are hearing.

My guess is the capital police are completely clueless that there is more than one verse to the Star Spangled Banner. Those kids probably practiced for months to learn all the words to both verses and change keys and add the echo of the “In God is our trust” line. Whomever stopped them should be ashamed and should issue a public apology.

My military history professor brought in a gal to sing the Complete National Anthem. As she did he would explain each stanza.

There is a legend that during WWII one of the tests to determine whether unknown people who were apprehended were German spies or Americans was to ask them to sing the Star Spangled Banner. If they knew more than one stanza, they were likely German spies who had been prepped, since no Americans knew more than the first stanza.

I agree wholeheartedly. If we have come to this point in our American history, (thank you Demons) then we are at the precipice of our destruction...unless something very drastic in our psyche arises. It is sad that we have come to this point. Oh, how I wish that we could kick out all those that hate America but revel in their freedom to hate it. As much as we hate all those illegals entering our country I hope that them experiencing real Socialism can become Real Americans, because face it they will be given amnesty and thus perhaps naturalization. I hope that they become Americans like my father, who though an immigrant himself was as proud an American as I am.
