Epstein Tried to Contact Nassar, Convicted US Olympic Gymnastics Pedophile Doctor, Wh
Quote:While incarcerated, Jeffrey Epstein, a disgraced financier and convicted child sex criminal, reportedly sent a letter to Larry Nassar, the former Olympic doctor infamous for sexually abusing girls over many years, according to recently discovered documents.

Over 4,000 pages of documents were obtained through the Freedom of Information Act from the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), nearly four years after Epstein’s death by reported suicide while awaiting trial on child sex trafficking charges in a New York City jail cell. These new documents provide additional insights about Epstein’s death at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) after 36 days of imprisonment and supplement information previously released by the BOP in 2021.

The documents reveal that an investigator discovered Epstein’s letter to Nassar in the jail mailroom after Epstein’s death. Although the contents of the letter have not been released, the letter was returned in September 2019, weeks after Epstein’s demise. In an email, the investigator expressed uncertainty about opening the letter or giving it to anyone, stating that Epstein had apparently mailed it out and it had been returned to sender. The investigator emailed a prison official, writing:

It appeared he mailed it out and it was returned back to him. I am not sure if I should open it or should we hand it over to anyone?

The documents do not explicitly name Nassar as the letter’s intended recipient. However, in response, the MCC staff attorney described the original addressee of Epstein’s letter as:

… the former doctor for the U.S. Female Gymnastics Team that was convicted of molesting a bunch of girls…under the guise of ‘medical procedures/examinations.

The attorney also said that some of the victims’ accounts were horrifying.

It remains unclear whether Epstein and Nassar had any connection. The State Appellate Defender Office, where Nassar’s court-appointed attorney works, stated that it was unaware of any relationship between the two individuals. The office also confirmed that it had no knowledge of the letter or Epstein’s attempt to contact Nassar.

Epstein faced charges in 2019 for operating a sex trafficking ring involving the sexual abuse of underage girls. Allegations about Epstein’s activities had circulated for years due to his connections to prominent figures. According to the indictment, between 2002 and 2005, Epstein ran a trafficking enterprise, paying young girls as young as 14 years old to engage in sexual acts with him at his residences. He allegedly collaborated with employees and associates to entice and exploit these young girls.

Epstein previously entered a guilty plea and was convicted in 2008 by a Florida state court for the charges of procuring a child for prostitution and soliciting a prostitute. He spent nearly 13 months in custody, but with significant work release privileges. It is important to note that he was convicted only for these two crimes as part of a highly controversial ‘sweetheart’ plea agreement. Federal officials had identified 36 girls, some as young as 14 years old, who were allegedly victims of Epstein’s sexual abuse.

As previously reported, socialite Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted for her role in the child trafficking ring. She was sentenced to 240 months in prison, last year.

The US Attorney’s office said:

Today’s sentence holds Ghislaine Maxwell accountable for perpetrating heinous crimes against children. This sentence sends a strong message that no one is above the law and it is never too late for justice. We again express our gratitude to Epstein and Maxwell’s victims for their courage in coming forward, in testifying at trial, and in sharing their stories as part of today’s sentencing.

Since at least 1994, up to and including in or about 2004, GHISLAINE MAXWELL assisted, facilitated, and participated in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of minor girls by, among other things, helping Epstein to recruit, groom, and ultimately abuse victims known to MAXWELL and Epstein to be under the age of 18. The victims were as young as 14 years old when they were groomed and abused by MAXWELL and Epstein, both of whom knew that their victims were in fact minors.

Nassar, the former doctor for the USA gymnastics team and Michigan State University, is currently serving a federal prison sentence of 60 years on child pornography charges. He also received a state prison sentence in Michigan of 40 to 175 years after pleading guilty to seven counts of criminal sexual conduct. Over 150 women and girls, including Olympic gold medalists Aly Raisman and McKayla Maroney, publicly accused Nassar of sexual abuse. USA Gymnastics, the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and their insurers agreed to a $380 million settlement with Nassar’s victims.

The newly released documents shed light on the circumstances surrounding Epstein’s behavior leading up to his reported suicide, and the procedural errors made by BOP staff.
