Hill was out-of-control great last night with just one very early hiccup. What a tremendous game and a well-deserved victory to start the post-All-Star break run to the playoffs! Sorry, Leon, Conner et al.!
I mean, Vancouver seems to be the team this season. They have been reliably consistent and are getting better. Washington dong better than I expected, but I'm not sure they'll make the playoffs without making some moves.
Ovie has turned it on since breaking Gretzky's Empty Net Goals Record the other day!
Meanwhile, 'Lanche in a bit of trouble as Nate MacKinnon goes down HARD and is out. Hope he's not hurt bad. He's a great player and they need him.

As we await the reporting of pitchers and catchers, the other major sport's season is heating up going into the playoffs. Nice for the Wild to honor Marc-Andre Fleury before their game with the Penguins. He's had a Hall-of-Fame-worthy career. Marc will also be "coming home" tonight to Las Vegas as the Wild travel to The Fortress to take on the Golden Knights. Hill vs Fleury would be a great matchup, but the jet-lag may take Fleury out of it in favor of Filip Gustavsson.
edit: Both Shea Theodore and Jack Eichel are expected to be out until at least Feb 17th. Eichel had a knee procedure, so at least it wasn't related to his neck issues. Theodore has an upper-body injury that's taking a long time to heal.
Also day-to-day for the Knights are Captain Mark Stone, Defenseman Zach Whitecloud, Ben Hutton, Tobias Bjornfot, Forwards William Carrier, Pavel Dorofeyev and Jonas Rondbjerg.
And of course, G Robin Lehner, who's been on LTIR (saving the team the cap space) since April of 2022, and expected to be out until at least April 18th, when the Knights will have to figure out what to do with him (likely a trade as he's been oft-injured and has a history of substance abuse and mental health issues such as hvings been diagnosed with bipolar I disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), the difficulties of which led him to alcohol abuse and an addiction to sleeping pills. Although he now claims to be sober, Lehner filed for bankruptcy in December of 2022, allegedly due to a gambling addiction, despite Lehner filed for bankruptcy despite earning over $30 million during his career. It's sad to see a guy struggling with this much and wasting opportunities and paychecks most folks can only dream of. Hope he can figuere out a way to stay sober and salvage some of the rest of his NHL career before it's too late.)

Well...I understand Morgan Rielly 's frustration at Ridly Greig's Empty-Net Slap Shot in this latest Battle of Ontario, but still, the crosscheck to the neck was totally uncalled for. You retaliate by playing better and winning the next game soundly, Toronto. Weak sauce.
Thanks for the very late hattie, Jonathan Marchessault. We really needed you to take us on your back and carry us tonight. Kudos to Mr. Assist and all-around team player Jack Eichel for the 3-assists. Wow, what a terrible fall Nick Roy took. Hope he's okay.

Enjoyed the win over a still-scrappy NJ team. G Jake Allen played absolutely wonderfully for the Devs, but it was not enough to stop the hopefully resurging Golden Knights. Watch out for MN and Fleury, who got a 17-year playoff streak on the line!
