I think he had a very high football IQ.

Most of that came from the fact that he was at ECU for 11 years. 03-lmfao

Well we are talking about a guy who wasn’t allowed to change anything at the line of scrimmage until his final season.

The INT against Navy last season was just pure brain fart.

Ahlers was pretty damn good his last 2 seasons. ECU should have won 10 games last year if we had a capable kicker we would have.

I wouldn’t say he was damn good, but my whole point was that he was still serviceable while not having much going on up top.

For the moment, dude is on an NFL roster.

I think this is a case of getting too comfortable with having a good QB. You forget what a bad, or just green, QB looks like. I hope I'm wrong, but you're probably going to be reminded of the difference during Garcia's first season as a starter.

Never said he was a bad Quarterback. Said he made dumb decisions, a lot. And ECU still moved the ball OK. He had the most talent around him last season of any ECU QB going back a long long time. I would be more concerned about that. Hardy + Cooper is the only argument you could make but I’ll still take Johnson Winstead Mitchell Jones

No, but he'd had about 100 starts so you at least kinda had an idea of what to expect out of him. Garcia who the hell knows he could be Garrard 2.0, Troth 2.0, or just something in between but you have no idea what you are getting.

Until last season Ahlers could have been Garrard 2.0 or Troth 2.0 week to week. Like I said my point wasn’t that Ahlers was bad it was closer to the reverse if anything.

Not necessarily directed to you, but Ahlers never made a postseason All-Conference team. Why do we think that is. It’s not like the AAC has had a stock of NFL QBs coming through. The truth is he didn’t become even above average until his senior season when he was on a loaded offense.

Yes that's true Holton was hot or cold early on, he could have an all timer performance or a pretty bad performance (but he never really had like 4-5 INT games). Garcia could just be Troth 2.0 all the time, not just from week to week. Now HOPEFULLY DK/Houston will design a lot more QB runs with Garcia than they did with Holton after his first season. I am going to have to see it to believe it because they obviously and intentionally restrained Holton from running for most of his career. If they design runs for Garcia, to go along with what I think is a very solid core of RB's and not an elite OL but at the very least functional I think we'll be fine. If they try to force him to stay in the pocket this could be real trouble.

All of our Dline is back and I do think our corners have the chance to be a big defensive improvement with some snaps under their belt. First games can be crazy and on the road at the Big House none the less. Wager at your own risk!!

NINE on offense? Dude, that's an insane number.

That said, Michigan is loud, but apparently all of the sound doesn't really make it to the field, so it's not as rattling as you'd like 100,000 could be. You never know though, Harbaugh could pull a Lloyd Carr and just drop the ball the year following an NY6 loss. It's happened before.

I think Ahlers’s body was wrecked from the shitshow O-Lines of the Mo years. I think Garcia is healthier and should be more durable. You also should feel fine with Flinn it sounds like if he gets hurt. Kirkpatrick and Houston had no problem with QBs running at JMU.

I went to my local store and only got ECU +33.5

I still invested. Hope I don't end up really needing the last couple points.

ECU a 35.5 point dog vs Michigan
ESPN app today shows ECU -35.0
And exact same spread Rice -35.0 vs Texas

oatm says play the parlay
ECU and Rice to both win outright
Don’t bet the farm, just bet the dairy cow.
Win the farm.

ECU 20:1 based on matchup predictor

Rice 40:1 based on same.

Smart money says take ECU & the points and don’t touch Rice/UT.

But it you foolishly took the parlay and it hits on 800:1 your 1500 Dairy Cow is now a nice $1.2 mil down payment on some prime farm land

Don’t follow me for investment advice

But go Pirates and go Owls!!!!

Last year I had a parlay on App to beat Texas A&M, Marshall to beat Notre Dame, Georgia Southern to beat Nebraska...

And ODU to cover against ECU....

I don't think I've ever been more let down.
