RE: When the Marginalized Becomes the Ideal - Vivek & Jordan Peterson
Have you ever wondered why every aspect of our culture, art, literature, music, marriage, sex, education is all being debased to the lowest common denominator.

Uultimatey i think its economics. The filth represent a greater market share than the nonfilth.

They call the filth the fringe in the video

Stay non filth my friends

We need some JR big thinking on this one

Damn, too deep for this weak mind. But the more I hear from this guy the more I find to like. Too bad he'll be viewed as representative of a fringe movement and will never get the nomination of the GOP.

How is it that we find ourselves at this crossroads in our history and culture where two great minds like this are themselves marginalized, not only by the left but by the GOP establishment itself?

Vivek is my number 2 at moment. Will have to listen on a night I can’t sleep this week. Like JP’s podcasts.

Just realized Vivek went to one of my rival high schools. They are all dirt balls over there. Haha jk. GCL South!

One thing I’ll be interested to see as we progress through the debates is the establishment clearly picked DeSantis and so far he’s sold out (still leaving a chance he comes back to his normal self publicly), if Vivek becomes the clear guy with a chance to take down 45, will his message start to sway if they line his pockets. Only hesitation I have at the moment.

Agreed. Still interested to see how the country plays out and who the number 2 will be as they will have a good shot to become the future of GOP after ‘24 if 45 can pull it off or not.

It’s been discussed enough by many i generally agree with. If it goes to 100ish mil votes for the donks especially with the screw job in office currently then plan b or c and I’m out.

Note: Probably should have started plan B or C after ‘20 rig job but family and care too much. @Shere…look at all the non establishment voters in ‘16 and ‘20 on this board that are already sucked back in to establishment policy (ex. Ukes) or establishment candidates (ex. DeSantis). Not good.

04-cheers

This time.

I think his strategy is to get in good with Trump, get a cabinet position and then go for it full gusto in 2028.

Absolutely terrific and intellectual discussion, Bearcat. Thank you for sharing. We have a current President than cannot put three coherent words together to form a rational thought, and then you have his conversation defining a "fringe" that is allowed to exist as a fringe due to a core ideal around which deviations "orbit".

So many posts here, when read, just deduct minutes from my time remaining on this wet rock. However, the time allocated to this conversation was well worth it. I respect Vivek R. (and RFK jr. too), as I think they are like a disruptive technology that changes the government paradigm. And if someone cannot see that Ramaswamy is incredibly intelligent and capable, they need to just listen to this exchange.

Well done and +3

RE: When the Marginalized Becomes the Ideal - Vivek & Jordan Peterson
Brilliant discussion. I wish that I thought that this level of discourse had any chance of becoming front and center in our American society. But we all sadly know that this is unrealistic. The American mind (me included) is too quickly distracted by the lowest and most salacious input.

Which is probably why Vivek Ramaswamy is such a long shot. He speaks to us at a level that requires effort. That gets little-to-no traction in today’s society.

Among the countless outrages of Hunter Biden, the worst is that our own government underhandedly covered for him. That ought to be the one and only topic of discussion. The 51 former intelligence experts who signed that letter stating that the laptop was Russian disinformation ought to be publicly tarred and feathered. Christopher Wray ought the be fired and prosecuted for lying to Congress. Merrick Garland ought to be hung for treason.

Yet that won’t happen. Why not? Because we don’t have the stomach or the attention span for it. The least
of the Hunter Biden sins is that he photographed himself naked with a hired whore. Yet that his what political buffoons like MTG force us to discuss - - at the loss of the far more horrifying reality that our own gov’t is conspiring against us.

I share shere Kahn’s assessment that Ramaswamy has little hope of becoming the 2024 Republican nominee. But I reject the absurd conclusion that we therefore have to completely sacrifice the American “ideal” of good governance because it seems unreachable - - and that we instead are obliged to back the worst option: the one candidate in the Republican mix who is the absolute furthest from the American ideal.

At roughly the 10-minute mark in this clip (maybe a bit earlier), Ramaswamy puts his finger on it. The job of the conservative movement is to define the ideal and sell it to the American people as something worth preserving. We (not just Republicans, but conservative generally) are failing at that task.

Vivek is playing the part that DeSantis should be playing. He’s not saying anything to alienate any part of Conservative base. He’s running a “I would make a great running mate” campaign for Trump.

If DJT doesn’t select him as his running mate, Vivek is seen as a loyal supporter and the logical front runner for 2028. The spot DeSantis vacated by tying himself to the establishment part of the Republican Party this cycle.

Don’t need the individual cheating. We got to do the systemic type to have a chance. Cheat like democrats. It’s the only way. We just need some big money guys to fund the cheating instead of spending it all to defeat the republican front runner.

If Trump doesn’t select him as a running mate I’ll be very disappointed. The debates against Kumswalla would be epic. The dem moderators would go nuts.
