This guy with Florida plates was attempting to back into a spot but cars were stacking up behind him so that he couldn’t. The car behind him honked but he refused to move. Next, he got out and started screaming at the car behind him and pointing at the parking spot. Finally the cars just simply went around him until it cleared and he could back in. Not sure why folks have to back into spots I mean I can do either and I don’t see any advantage. The guy was older so I guess age doesn’t always bring wisdom.

It’s a certain 13% of the population that back in to parking spots aka “blackin’ in”

I developed the habit because as a system technician for BellSouth we were required to back our work vehicles in. Back in those days we could actually be written up by a supervisor for violating that policy. They also had a policy of making no left turns. I actually had to attend a driving school of sorts.

Wow. Thats a thing now. Ive noticef it lately.

Bwahahahaha

Whats the advantage or is it just a fad

It does serve a purpose, maybe not today among the general population, but at least according to the wisdom of Ma Bell. The thinking is that backing into a slot is (slightly) less risky than backing out of one as far as avoiding collisions in parking lots go. And I can see the logic if you're in a van with no side windows or next to a larger vehicle that you can't see around until you've backed half way out. But then they also had a policy of making no left turns.

They all have. Always have been, really. Most s/b shut down. The student bodies are majority spoiled brats who want a 6 year vacation. I have no sympathy for their debt

Big problem no one talks about.

It may only represent a small minority of them but I think maybe we are starting to see a return to "normalcy" as regards the marketplace of ideas among some universities.

The G.I. bill was cheaper and less disruptive than millions of U.S. service personnel returning to the private sector and remaining jobless.

The Pell Grant was created to prevent the Bably Boom from facing joblessness.

The Federal Student Loan kept the higher education gravy train running because after the G.I. Bill artificially inflated the college educated growing small schools into universities, and the Pell Grant kept them going, the Federal Student Loan kept the nation from suffering a massive downsizing in education, which will now naturally occur due to low birth rate. Open borders don't help because the national average for the immigrants of children to become educated in a university is 3 generations, unless you are Asian and then it's one.

Higher ed in this country has an unacceptable ROI and part of the realignment issue has nothing to do with sports and everything to do with the clustering of major schools to look like they are important places to go to school. Downsizing is coming in most states with regard to higher education. States are protecting their oldest and largest schools. It won't be pretty!

RE: My youngest grandson was shot at...
I have always thought it was silly because it is a lot harder to back into a parking spot than it is to back out of that parking spot... it is designed like that. You have a 20ft open "street" to back into out of the parking spot, where as you have a 8' area to back into a parking spot. It is really funny when the idiots have to pull out and in a couple times to get straight... No doubt if it is an open spot all the way through, I will pull through the parking spot, but the whole backing in is just silly.
