We don't have enough information at this point to know. Need to know who's gun it was, how it was acquired, etc. Perhaps the answer is none of them, I can't say at this point.

Question to the OP: What "common sense gun law(s)", which are opposed by the evil NRA/Republicans, would have prevented this tragedy?

Well the person wasn't practicing common sense..

A. You treat every gun if it is loaded, so therefore you don't point it at anyone.
B. How is pointing a gun at someone punishment? WTF is that

RE: Awful Story out of Tennessee
In every walks of life, male, female, rich, poor, black, brown, white, straight, gay, this country has people that make stupid decisions, that action leads to someone's death daily. Today 99 people will die from a car accident and 25 of those will be 13 or under.....

just about all, if not all, are caused by a stupid decision from someone....not because of who or what they are labeled but their actions.

Gay, Straight, white, brown, black, rich, or poor, making stupid decisions runs equally across all of those. Gun, car, baseball bat, it doesn't matter, its the DECISION of a human, that caused the death

That would be a good guess, because that is usually the case.

RE: Awful Story out of Tennessee
It’s strange, I have managed to own multiple guns over the last 48 years and I haven’t shot anyone nor has any of my weapons been used to shoot anyone. I would say that’s the case for over 99% of gun owners, so maybe not that strange.

The left wants to punish the 99% for the sins and/or stupidity of the 1%.

I largely agree but sometimes it's just pure dumb bad luck or stupidity. I'm not saying that what you said doesn't apply in the case being presented here because it was obviously a very bad decision on the part of the woman involved.

There was a time when stupid people weeded themselves out of the gene pool through stupid actions. These days there appear to be more stupid people than any other type so losing them through attrition isn't having that same impact. And they keep on passing the stupid genes down to their even more stupid offspring.

I've been an avid shooter since I was 12 years old. I also have owned NUMEROUS firearms and none of them have ever taken it upon themselves to go on a shooting spree. The first rifle I ever owned is still sitting in my gun closet, it has never ever shot itself.

And yes, this is a tragic story. I can't imagine losing a child much less being the cause of that loss.
