High school violence
I noticed a couple of stories about fights at high schools near where I live, but didn’t think much of it. It happens sometimes. But reading news from some other parts of the country, they seem to be having more, and worse than normal.

I guess I haven’t heard of many football games being cancelled, or games where only family is allowed to attend due to violence.

Is it just that I happened to notice it, or is anyone seeing this around the country?

This school is just now installing metal detectors, which to me means something has changed just recently.

This is what happens when the so called 13% of the population is left unchecked and is allowed to commit over 100% of the crime in this country.

True. I was surprised that one of the schools had so little control after at least a dozen fights in a day that they had to switch to online learning for the rest of the week.

I’ve heard of fights at school, but not that many in a day, and not being forced to cancel in person classes because of it.

RE: High school violence
As far as I know there haven't been any major fights where it makes the news in EP. Maybe it's because we don't have 13% we have 3% and most of them are good kids. Many come from military families and are brought up right with two parents. There may be some bad apples but they are in the minority. Our law institutions don't take any crap, you screw up you're gonna pay. But by and large there have always been high school fights even when I was growing up, but they weren't riots.

Lack of discipline in the home, exacerbated by the rise of single-parent households and social media that rewards outrageous behavior, is what is driving the increase.

Well if there was any thought of discipline by them at all, this wouldn't happen.

RE: High school violence
It's all part of this trend of crime escalation across the USA.

Schools - including now at HS football games - local eateries, people assaulted on the street/subways, businesses having to allow thieves to simply walk in and steal merchandise (California is having businesses shut down due to the losses).

Major cities are simply havens for criminal behavior due to the influx of Soros supported DA's that allow this BS to grow like cancer. Portland is history due to their leniency of Antifa/BLM. Now there are homeless everywhere. SFO, LAX, SEA are enduring the same trend with homeless and brazen violence/theft issues cited above; PLUS the massive drug abuse. All three of them are "dead cities walking"; used to be fun to visit but now businesses are leaving and visitors literally are risking their lives simply being there.

To be sure, this is a NATIONAL trend. Other cities will join that DCW club - MSP, ORD, NYC, PHI, DET, STL, NEW, MIA, ATL.

RE: High school violence
Did the stories specify that it was "african american" students that commited the violence? If it didn't specify, then you can bet your life that it was "african american" students that commited the violence.

RE: High school violence
The issue is faculty and staff are not allowed to touch the students. When I was in high school/junior high there were several male teachers/coaches/administrators/staff that made it clear that they would kick your arse if they needed to. I witnessed a couple small scuffles get ended quickly by said faculty.

They can’t do that today in the days of the lawsuit lottery and de-masculinization of this country.
