On the surface you're right, but here is the difference. Army is not your typical opponent. It takes time to get used to the triple option. Sometimes several games. On top of that, Army had the triple option with a wrinkle this year. Playing out of the shotgun.

It's easy for a defense to get on their heels when you're not quite sure how to defend that kind of an offense you've never seen before. Having to play on a short week doesn't help either.

Memphis had a similar issue. They have figured out the triple option. They've played Navy like 8 years in a row now. This year was a little different though. They've brought in a lot of new faces from the transfer portal who were seeing that offense for the first time and it showed.

You can tell UTSA is talented, they just can't seem to catch a break. Unfortunately their next opponent will be their toughest one so far.

We lost our OC from last year. He was poached from us prior to our bowl game in fact. And I will say I haven't been a fan of the offensive play calling so far this year either. But moving forward, I think defense is the bigger issue.

Many disagree with me and that's fine. But while I get what you're saying about teams like Army and Navy, if ULM can learn and adjust, others can. Army racked up almost as many yards against us as they did against Delaware State! Our defense hasn't even forced a turnover yet in our first 3 games. We're already -5 in turnovers after just 3 games.

The game at Tennessee will be a minor milestone for us btw. I'm one of the weirdos who keep up with stuff like this, but it'll be game #150 for our football program.

They will be fine. Get Harris back and more importantly let JT Clark play. He is the best receiver and only saw action when he snuck on the field on 1 drive. This team is different when you have to defend both Cephus and Clark.

Probably won't see Harris or Clark back until conference play

Defense will be fine too unless Trey Moore is seriously injured.
