Biff at this point is like Nuke LaLoosh's shower shoes - if you look like that on the sidelines and win, you're colorful...but if you lose to GSU looking like that ...

Not exclusive to Biff/Charlotte but I’ve always found your second statement there to be deadly accurate. Quirky is only cool if you win.

Deion Sanders is another great example of that in Colorado. He’s winning so it’s all fun and cool. Had it gone sideways they’d be all over him.

Winning cures all ills.

Since all the schools we added last year were imo "market potential" schools, I have no idea why we didn't invite Georgia State over some of the ones we did invite..

Georgia State said they were unwilling to invest what was necessary.

Good game 49ers. The back and forth kept it close a lot later than I was comfortable with.

Glad to have this short travel series with you guys at Charlotte.

I don't know much about this new coach, but it says a lot about your locker room that your players never quit on him.

I think we just really needed to secure this win before entering conference play. The upcoming grind through SBC East will be absolutely rough as usual. Marshall, JMU, App, etc.. we may be underdogs for the rest of the year in the SBC.

If it's any consolation, Charlotte's run defense looks tough. It's been a loooong time since our tailback couldn't break 100 yards and 4 ypc. We like to run the ball north-south and CLT's front seven mitigated a lot of it. Definitely threw us off our gameplan and forced us to adjust.

We had to rely on Grainger's arm to throw for nearly 500 yards to win us this game, which may stay as his career best record for a long time. This option offense is designed to average rushing for ~200 yds per game, and our QB rarely needs to throw over 150-200 yds/game.

I fully expect Georgia St to be competitive at the top of the Belt this year.

As for us, rotating QBs makes which plays we're calling too predictable. Need Ivey to step up or Jones to settle in with his passing game.

Our defensive backfield also needs some help.

Nah, moving would have required our administration to actually do something.

Half the fanbase (both of us) thought we should move. The rest either wanted to stay in the Sun Belt or just didn't care.

The whole thing transpired at a very odd time for GSU. We didn't technically have a President at the time. Becker was on his way out the door and thought it should be decision of the new guy. There was so much stuff for Blake to deal with on day one that didn't involve Athletics he relied on the AD's opinion. As stated above the AD doesn't like to work so he said we should stay. That's not saying an invite was offered but talks were had. The official statement was GSU would not join if invited.
