Max adding sports
Max (formerly HBO Max - goes by Max now) announced today they’re adding a bunch of sports to their streaming service (free until the end of February - 10 bucks a month after that). It’s mostly sports from the TBS and TNT networks and all pro sports like the MLB playoffs, and NBA and NHL games. But it will include March Madness this spring.

Doesn’t really mean much to the AAC. But I am telling you, more streaming services will add sports this fall and winter because of the ongoing writers strike. Peacock and Paramount in particular have to be looking for additional sports. Hopefully the AAC can fit in somewhere, and we aren’t just looking at additional broadcast partners for just the P5 folks.

We are going to have to start paying $150 a month just to watch sports anymore...You will have to have espn+ app, paramount + app, apple tv app, peacock app, Max app, big 10 network, pac12 network, sec network, fox sports app, bally sports package, mlb newtowrk, nfk network....Its getting harder and harder to turn on a tv and just watch your team. You have to find what app they will be on this week. Ohhh I forgot CBS Sports...I got fubo tv the other day just so I could watch TU play OU and then watch my Reds and Bengals...they had bally sports...find out they will not play my Reds or Bengals in Oklahoma. So now I am cancelling and having to try to find another way just so I can watch my favorite teams. I am lucky to see the Reds play 3 times a year on tv.

Next step will be someone bundling all the steaming services and thus reinventing cable.

i'm still one of those olds. i have directv and espn+ .... i just can't go all in on streaming....something about flipping channels and getting the channel immediately, instead of the 15-20 exit, load, search, click ways of streaming

100% agree and I'm probably relatively young for this forum. My wife and I did do YT TV which works pretty similar although you stream it. The multi-cast games are cool and it does have a channel guide like cable. Espn+ on the house.

Don't know that I'm understanding this post. None of those things you're railing against were different with cable: most people were paying $150 or more for cable and you wouldn't have been able to watch the Reds or Bengals in OK with your standard cable subscription.
