It had a solid atmosphere, but it didn't compare to a game in Wichita. Now, walking out onto Beale Street before/afterward while it was also St. Patrick's Day was unbeatable. Also, the arena being of NBA quality does beat Koch Arena in about every metric. Koch Arena is a classic place to watch a college basketball game with a top-tier atmosphere most nights. The only other AAC arena I've visited was Tulsa over the last 5 years and it always seems that WSU fans fill up at least 1/3 of the stands.
WSU fans are fantastic. Ironically, their enthusiasm and numbers motivate the away team as well as the home team, IMO.
I think that's true. I know our team gets jacked up to play in the roundhouse.
I always called Tulane's place Fogleman Arena, but I see it is also Devlin Fieldhouse. I have been to a game there and this is not the best arena in the AAC. I have been to FedEx Arena in Memphis and it is great, but like clt said, Charlotte occasionally plays in our NBA arena and it is extremely nice, but it isn't home.
A full raucous arena is the best, regardless of the actual amenities.
I am going to retire in 497 days (but who's counting), and then I think I will make visits to some of the legendary college barns. I want to see games in Rupp Arena (KY) and Allen Fieldhouse (Kansas) for example. Having grown up in the Triangle in NC I have been to plenty of games in Cameron Indoor (Duke), Charmichael Auditorium and the Dean Dome (UNC-CHeat), Reynolds Coliseum and PNC Arena (NC State). I need to start putting my list together.

Memphis has both at the FedexForum, currently the top ranked arena in the NBA with extensive renovations in the works to boot. Throw in the pre and post-game on Beale, and it's a chef's kiss.
Hey would you look at that, UTSA’s arena is currently second in voting. How about that.
Tiger1983, you should do one of those dumb “Poll results as of writing” posts you always make where you tally all the votes because it fits your agenda.

You don't think we ever fill FeExForum? Did so on a routine basis when Calipari was at Memphis. Still do on occasion. Nothing like it. 18,000+.

Devlin isn't the best but it's the oldest and most retro which I like.
i've never like the super pit at north texas. not a fan of the circular court area, prefer it be a rectangle like most.
and the athletic department doesn't own the arena, the school does and there have been issues in the past when something else (cheerleading competition, robotics competition) forced a game/practices elsewhere on campus. thankfully, they have had a dedicated practice facility for years now.

Invariably, those who tend with the least board contributions tend to complain the most about those pitching their hat in the ring. Not exactly in the spirit of the “man in the arena”…..
