Most people I know who played understand this in a far different way or context of those who didn't.

A causal Google search revealed decorated NFL former players Shannon Sharp and Ryan Clark are among the multitudes of critics. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OnFl5AHOTw). I surmise other people "actually played football" at the highest level also "understand" the "context". Do they count, lol?

Regardless, the "you do not know about something unless you did it" notion you trot out is throughly specious. When someone rants and raves and takes a physically threatening posture against a subordinate, it is not normal FB coach behavior. It is not the 1970's, lol.

Tiger1983 show us on the bear where the mean coach hit you.

I expect better of a Tulane fan/grad than to launch an ad hominem attack. 05-nono

Your point was countered. It happens to everyone on this board. Take the L and move on……

Your right talking heads aon ESPN should have the final say.

In all fairness, you're the one who introduced level of playing experience into the discussion. Furthermore, to relegate Sharpe as simply a talking head is asinine and you know it. Not only is he a future HOF player, he has three Super Bowl rings, among numerous other accolades, and was teammates with Dilfer, considering him a friend. If his opinion carries less weight than yours, what makes you the arbiter?

No one is lynching him. We're saying it's a bad look, and the administration should address this to prevent a repeat performance. Is that such a difficult takeaway?

It is a bad look. I see it as a UAB internal thing of which I dont know the relationships between the parites involved. When others fans come on a UAB/Tulane thread and shame the UAB coach it seems a bit much.

That's it take it or leave it.

I'm not siding with Dilfer. Perhaps I'm just numb to it and am the wrong person to judge. My dad was a coach and I played high school and college before coaching a short stint. I have seen so many coaches do stuff like that and then everybody brotherly love it up fine 5 minutes after, 5 days after and 5 months after.

Outside of football, with a few exceptions people have very thin skin and are quick to shame others behavior for self gain. It's just a not and day contrast that not everyone has seen.

I'm not trying to win an argument just have a discussion.

If you say so. 10-1

Looking forward to silverfield yelling at his staff next Friday.

I've never played college football, but I've certainly shed plenty of my own blood, sweat, and tears on the field. Sure, there is some brotherly love, but we both know there are a lot of different personalities on a team and not everyone sees things the same way. Games are highly charged and testosterone is flowing like water. I get it, but there are differences. If it didn't happen with so much physical posturing and so prominently on a national stage, garnering so much scrutiny, it would be a completely different situation. Having a video making the rounds of him manhandling a teenager makes it all the worse. We should all expect better from our leaders.

I'm not unaware that this country has gone soft and cancel culture is mainstream. I assure you that I abhor cancel culture and I'm certainly not advocating for the firing of the coach. I want nothing more than to see him and the team succeed. My only hope is that this is addressed and the coach will take the necessary steps to moderate his anger in the face of setbacks. It isn't a good look for the school or the conference, and whether we like it or not, every member school is an ambassador for the AAC.
