Who should the AAC Add for BB?

Now that Army will join the fold for FB, who should the AAC add for BB?

Will any of them answer the call?

I like all the options, but have a special fondness for the rabid Dayton fans. I pick only one to allow more OOC opportunities for the Tigers. My selection is based on preference without the all important financial considerations.

Hopefully an enterprising reporter will ask if the A-10 schools are interested and/or if Aresco intents to expand for BB.

I agree, especially St Louis they have nice facilities and solid Olympic programs

They should look at FGCU as well, can't beat Fort Myers lol and the basketball programs for women's and men's are solid

I voted VCU, I'd be fine with adding all 3, but in reality I suspect none of them would join and there's no one else worth adding.

Mainly because I have family in Dayton and I used to live in Fairfield (right between Dayton and Cincinnati)...I am going with them. I might be able to convince my Aunt and Uncle to come to Tulsa to watch a game.

Unless the A10 gets a sizable bump in avg pay out, like 1 million per team, yes they will. SLU is the only one who has a legit shot at the nBE and they will still have that opportunity here.

The AAC is stronger in olympic sports, basketball in particular, more money, and way more exposure. With the size of the league we can cut down on the one negative, travel.

I’m not against any or all of those 3 but I doubt it will happen right now. The A10 is a good set-up for those programs. They probably want to wait and see for a couple years, at a minimum, how strong the new AAC is in hoops before making that jump.

VCU is the no brainer. Dayton and SLU both are prime Big East expansion candidates as they fit the mold of the schools their (nearly all of them are private catholic schools like SLU and Dayton, VCU is not). VCU has slim to no chance of getting a BE invite, so they will be the most likely to listen. It would be a slight step up in conference and quite a bit of extra pay for them plus securing a spot in case the BE does end up grabbing Dayton/SLU.

Wanted to point out that the A10's TV contract is up this year.

Financially - 1 of these schools is already paid for since they will be getting a portion of SMU's payout

I could easily see the other 2 being added with ESPN's blessing and additional funds from the money they have been using to pay the A10.

All 3 is an easier sell to a school like VCU, who would be giving up regional rivalries and fairly friendly travel.

What is the current # of bball schools in the conference?

I think I'd rather a new member play both... But, with Army and Navy being FB only, WSU being bb only.. not sure how this balances out for future adds.

Vcu has always made the most sense. If the aac wants to become super and the others want to join, I'm all for it. Who else is even out there other than them?
