The CAA has been financially good to Charleston. I wouldn’t assume they would automatically accept a move.

Looks like Chris Mack probably is going to be the new coach at Charleston:

WOW!

He made 4M a year at Louisville until they let him go in 2022 and has gotten 133k monthly since. Won championships in A10 at Xavier plus ACC.

This indicates CoC future league affiliation has an upward trajectory especially with the chaos in the ACC

The amount of money Louisville tosses around is mind blowing.
They are paying Chris Mack $133k per month ($1.6million) this season not to coach
They are paying Kenny Payne $2million per year for the next 3 not to coach
They are paying CofC $1million to buy out Kelsey
They are paying Kelsey $2.3million/year to coach.

Now, I'm sure some of that could offset for Mack taking a new job, but that is nuts.

Local Charleston paper says CofC had been paying Kelsey a million a year.

Interesting that the team that beat them in the NCAA tournament both last year (San Diego St.) and this year (Alabama) each made it to the Final Four.
