Poll: Would you be willing to play OSU or WSU in place of a CUSA game?
Nah, give me the normal CUSA schedule
Sure, just as soon play 1-for-1 with OSU/WSU as any CUSA team
whatever, don't care either way
only if it's a little more than pure one-for-one, we're helping them out here

RE: 2PAC scheduling
It would be good for our TV partners if we had games like Liberty or WKU hosting those two. TV drives this and I think CUSA would accept assuming it makes sense.

If played in the Snow I would schedule one of them.

If it helps the flames SOS, which I am sure it would, I am all for it. That being said, I would want it to take place of our OOC games, not take away from CUSA opponents.

I just don't see how ten teams could get out of ten OOC games for next season. And I don't know that I'd want us to trade any of ours for OSU/WSU. I think the only way this would work would be two years of a 7 game conference slate.

But we have no idea what the 2PAC offered the 'belt, no idea if they'd have any interest in a similar offer to CUSA, no idea if they'll get to keep the money on appeal.

I don't think it's realistic, but I was really curious what other CUSA fans would think. I'm not totally sure where I would stand on it myself. Still mulling it over but leaning "sure, why not."

Pay us when you come visit and then double that when we have to go to youse places. Hey, they're desperate, that's when you tighten the vise.

The art of negotiation is always to ask first what the offeror wants rather state what you want. And rather than "tighten the vise", create as close as possible a win/win arrangement trying to satisfy both parties needs. If the PW has a greater need, which it seems it will, then they'll have to increase their offer for equitability. How does the arrangement benefit both parties is the key, not taking advantage of one or the other.

But we don't need anything here. I'm not sure they do either, but if they do, they've got to make it worth it to us. What's "worth it" to me might be different to what's "worth it" to olliebaba. As a group the conference would have to find that answer for CUSA. But then the 2Pac would have to get there.

RE: 2PAC scheduling
Looks like they're going to do something with the MWC.

I can see why Boise State would be in favor of helping them out (and would benefit from the home game). It's less clear whether schools not in the running for a new PAC-?? ought to be helping OSU/WSU make this work.

Looks like the deal between the MWC and PAC 2 will include penalties for PAC 2 if they poach from the MWC. Guessing it will be a full merge eventually. Rats.

Wisc, were you hoping for a Utep invite?

I'm just curious how they're gonna work all this out.

I was hoping the PAC 2 would invite as many as 8 MWC schools and the remaining 4 or so would hook up with CUSA. If they only poached 6 or less of the MWC schools then yes, I would want UTEP and NMSU to join the 6 or more MWC survivors.

RE: 2PAC scheduling
Time to move on with the MWC or whatever it’s going to be called in two years.

They have made it very clear several times they don’t want anything to do with UTEP. Just play them OOC as it’s been the case for several years to throw a bone to the older fans who still yearn of the “old WAC days.”

I actually think C-USA 4.0 will work out just fine. Unlike the 3.0 version, this version feels like every school is on the same page when it comes to the two revenue sports. There’s not a toxic fan base and/or school administration putting the conference down as it was the case in previous versions (Louisville in 1.0, Memphis and ECU in 2.0, the SBC3 in 3.0).

Let the MWC and the two Pac-12 leftovers play low rated late night games. I don’t want to watch a UTEP at Hawaii game at midnight ever again. No thanks.
