When the Quo Man Cave Lineup post is made on a Friday (as opposed to a Saturday morning), all is good in the world.

All nine games QV lists range from intriguing to "must-watch."

Good list, I would add the UNLV at Air Force afternoon game on CBSSN to the list. They are both tied for first place at 5-1, both have a record of 8-2 on the season and the winner will likely host the MWC CCG. The UCLA-USC game will be dreary, with a forecast of rain and two teams going in the wrong direction. I will be at that dreary game, and I will hopefully get home in time to watch the second half of the evening schedule.

Thanks for the tip. I think I will set up a 25" TV to watch that game as well. Didn't know it was a big MW game. Have fun at the dreary game. :)

Makes sense, enjoy those games.

BTW, does anyone in Happy Valley regard Rutgers as a rival? I think the B1G tries to prop them up as such, but this kind of beggars belief for me.

Any more than how the B1G used to promote Michigan State as Penn State's "rival"?

Gonna be finishing packing and driving to NY tomorrow. Depending on the time, I might catch the night games, including the FSU bloodbath on the CW.

UL vs UM ought to be good, there is a trophy involved between these two.

I'm gonna be flipping back and forth between Oklahoma State @ Houston (ESPN2) and Wake Forest @ Notre Dame (NBC, of course).

Also, here's something I thought I'd never see: college hoops on NBC featuring a Notre Dame program. I admit it's most likely mere coincidence since NBC is now one of the media partners of the B1G, but before the Notre Dame home football game, which is the norm for NBC, there's a women's hoops game between Illinois and the Fighting Irish, who happen to be hosting the game. It's gonna be a busy sports day in South Bend.

Three great rivalry games! I've been fortune to be connected to all 3....
- "The Rivalry" Lehigh vs Lafayette
- "The Brawl" Montana vs Montana State
- "The Sunflower State Showdown" Kansas vs Kansas State

I have to include Harvard vs Yale too!

I think Penn St played them back when the eastern teams were all independent, but Pitt-Penn St was the rivalry. My alma mater, WVU, lost to PSU something like 30+ times consecutively before Jeff Hostetler led us to victory; so Penn St likely didn't consider us a rival.

I shall at least watch SEC games Georgia-Tennessee and South Carolina-Kentucky.

I think you may be taking this whole man cave thing too literally, Quo.

Haha!

Here's the skinny - my "Man Cave" is more of a metaphorical thing, a temporary thing, I do not have a dedicated room that is decked out with the TVs and special lounge chairs and sports memorabilia. I do have one room in our house (I live with my wife, just the two of us) that is mine, as she has one that is hers, but sadly it is not configured as a man cave, as it is dedicated to my computers and desk for work.

So basically what I do is, we have a living room with a very large TV, the 75" model, and then on CFB Saturday's, my wife goes out shopping, and I set up two or three other TVs in the room. So it is a one-day-of-the-week Man Cave, not a permanent fixture.

I have a quasi-version of it for NFL Sundays as well, but just two TVs, one for the game being shown in our market, the other for RedZone. I do not get the Sunday Ticket that would allow viewing all the games.

Gets the job done though, LOL.

That game is for the Ivy title. Though don't be surprised if the students take over the field at Halftime again.

I probably thought Pittsburgh was the main rival growing up. When I got to PSU as a grad student they were already in the Big Ten. I would think that if Rutgers ever became a "rival" to Penn State, we've fallen off the map (or Rutgers suddenly got good). The team(s) I really want Penn State to rival with now are obviously Ohio State and Michigan but we're not close enough to either of them. James Franklin in his Penn State career is 1-9 vs. Ohio State, 3-7 against Michigan, and 50-16 against the rest of the Big 10 (54-32 overall). The other obvious issue is Penn State would never be the #1 rival of either school. Michigan State would be a good rival, Penn State and Michigan State are 18-18-1 overall and PSU leads 17-10 since they joined the Big 10 but again MSU will always hate UM more. The only school that would ever be a true rival to Penn State would be Pittsburgh if they were ever let into the Big Ten or PSU swallowed their pride and agreed on an annual end of the season rivalry.
