Surely tastier than the Coogs's annual OOC lineup.

So, we lost. Everyone shot blanks, most of the night. It was inconceivable for me that the Owls would shoot 5-for-28 from the three point land. Most of those shots were open and makeable shots. I do not know what happened. Coach Dusty will figure out what happened.

So how and why was Houston seeded so high playing in the soft AAC, losing the conference tournament, and playing a Q4 cupcake heavy (e.g. very soft) OOC last year?

Marquee wins are important. They had a win over #2 Virginia and a St Mary’s team that ended up as a 5 seed in the tournament. Can throw in a W over Oregon if you’d like, they were a bubble team. I wouldn’t personally consider that marquee though, lol.

Think they were also helped by the fact that their only OOC loss was to an elite Alabama team. I see your point about playing cupcakes, but I wouldn’t call their OOC schedule soft when looking at it overall.

the AAC needs a strong FAU and Memphis while WSU, Temple, and Tulsa climb their way back.

The point I was making was primarily a direct counter to an assertion that was made that effectively stated that beating a Q4 team can drop your NET. Patently absurd, really, and I don't disagree that strong wins are always a positive factor.

When you pad it out with seven bottom feeders (four of which are roughly 300 or worse), I disagree. At best it's just a bit better than middle of the road.

correct. AAC hoops has all the potential in the world...we just need a few of those teams to realize that potential.

"A rising tide lifts all boats"

Temple, WSU, Tulsa, UAB, Charlotte, FAU, UNT, etc...so much potential there.

If you had more than two fans, you might get better representation.

It is funny that you think we have only 2 fans...the truth is most mentally stable people stay away from toxicity...and that does not just apply to FAU's fanbase.

This board is incredibly negative, blames other school for one's own problems. Most people do not want to participate with that. Maybe in those schools the tomorrow is brighter and the other schools the shine is in the past.

I wouldn't be too upset. It happens to all of us, certainly enough times with Memphis. It's just that you guys are the top ranked team in a conference struggling for recognition, so it makes more news than the normal OOC loss.

Good luck the rest of the way, until we meet. All of us need you to be great. No pressure, huh?

And believe me, every Memphis fan I know is pulling for you guys. 04-cheers

I agree with your post, but I think you do not fully take into account Bryant’s contributions to the result. They deserve some credit, IMO.

For example, both Jackson St and AL St deserved credit (I think) for out hustling the Tigers. One day, not focusing will come to bite the Tigers.

Can't take anything away from Bryant in that victory. They effectively dominated that game while being undermanned and undersized.

They weren't rooting for us. They were rooting against SMU. There is a difference.
