If this is how it works out, we go 4-3 and split the MWC games we are the number one non-A5 conference and NY6 rep for I believe 7/10 years. We have had a split where we were the NY6 team but not the number one conference.

Pretty sure its our year this time. Memphis getting the Liberty bowl is the slightly odd one. I would think SMU would get it based on the travel to make money aspect of the bowls. Which I think would send you to Hawaii to handle the bulldogs.

Would love the Liberty but doubt it happens. You never know though and if we can get out of Temple with a win it will have been a good 9-3 season.

Currently, the AAC Champion has been the G5’s NY6 rep for 7 out of 9 years. So if the AAC champ gets it this season, it would be 8/10. And Boise got it the first year (2014), so really you’d be talking 8 out of the last 9 years.

I know you said you messed it up, but since you mentioned it, I agree it seems odd to send Memphis to the Liberty Bowl rather than SMU.

On the surface, absolutely. But the city of Memphis has a special relationship with that bowl, and supports it to the max.

And the LB director will likely lean to Memphis over SMU, since Memphis is likely about to take ownership of the stadium where the bowl is played, lol.

And Memphis fans would love to gain redemption for that one-point loss a few years ago.

But for the AAC to have any shot, regardless of which team, we need the 3 5-6 SEC teams to lose this week.

Miss State tonight to Ole Miss, and on Saturday, Florida to FSU and South Carolina to Clemson. All 3 teams we want to win are favored, but all 3 games are also being played on the underdog's field. And all 3 big rivalry games, so anything can happen.

Ole Miss at Miss State right now on ESPN. Early 4Q. Ole Miss leading 17-7.

Intriguing.

But somebody still has to go to Hawaii. Almost nobody really wants to.

Back in 2007, Boise State played a regular-season game at Hawaii on November 23, and then had to go back and play in the Hawaii Bowl against ECU on December 23. For Boise, the choice of bowls came down to either Hawaii or staying at home for the Potato Bowl. Normally, Hawaii would’ve played in that bowl game but they were undefeated and got the Sugar Bowl against Georgia. The Broncos (10-2) were heavily favored (-10.5) against ECU (7-5), but the Pirates won and I have always believed the travel-issue cut against Boise in that game. I know many Bronco fans felt the same way.

Yes but one of those years we were not the number 1 conference. I don't think I wrote that very well though. We have been both the #1 conference 7/9 years and 7/9 years we have been the NY6 rep. But 1 of those 9 years we were not the NY6 but were the number 1 conference and 1 time we were the NY6 rep but not the #1 conference. We sent the NY6 team but the MW was #1. We were #1 but Western Michigan went to NY6.

So if we are NY6 and win out in the bowl games to become this years #1 conference we.will for 7/10 years been both plus another year been NY6 and a seperate year been #1.

I have to admit, I have never understood how those conference rankings were calculated. They’re obviously not going by simple W-L records.

Espn tells us. Hence why they want SMU in Boston Vs an ACC school or how we got shipped to Albuquerque last year for BYU.

You're answering the wrong question.

For CFP "performance shares" amongst non-contract-bowl conferences the #1 (five shares) - #5 (one share) rankings are calculated from the six BCS computers.
