RE: CUSA CHAMPIONSHIP - NEW MEXICO ST. @ LIBERTY
I have no real rooting interest but having a conference mate go 13-0 is a good thing so I’ll be pulling for them. I do think the Flames win by about ten points.

I believe it will help liberty immensely that NMSU kick the **** out of auburn. If and when Tulane loses to SMU.
Nothing personal with NMSU but you nearly lost to us and we played a terrible game.

Why do you have to say anything? We played even worse and still won. We had 4 turnovers including 2 deep in JSU territory and still won! I know you desperately wanted that asterisk but we won. I don't care if we win by 1, 3 or 21. All I care is that we win and we did.

No credit to NMSU for making your team look "bad"? I guess JSU played terrible and almost won and that's the whole story.

Such sour grapes from the JSU folks. I'm not so sure you guys aren't much different than the JMU posters...

No sour grapes, I was simply pointing out that liberty will be much better and yes y'all played like crap also. What's that gonna look like when liberty doesn't?
Therefore I have liberty by 14.

The superiority complex from JSU posters is hard to to stomach. You may not see it but that does not change how obnoxious it is.

If Liberty does win (which I believe & am rooting for), then we are all SMU fans Saturday. Those NY6 credits would be great for the conference as a whole.

I have no stake on who wins but what I want is to see all those Benjamins coming our way. Show me the money!

...and because of that I guess that I'll be rooting for Liberty.

RE: CUSA CHAMPIONSHIP - NEW MEXICO ST. @ LIBERTY
Little ol NMSU has no chance. We punched above our weight all year and now it will all be exposed. NMSU struggled against JSU but Liberty has not struggled once all year. Liberty absolutely destroyed us earlier this season, the game was never close and there is no possible way we can win. NMSU's win over Liberty last year was only because Freeze was leaving and the team lost focus.

I'd say we are right where we want to be. Always doing more with less. Chip on our shoulder. Overlooked. Left for dead. It's the Aggie way...

All the stars align for a Liberty-NM State rivalry but I feel zero animosity towards them. Y’all’s fans have been delightful.

Agreed! There’s nothing better than a friendly rivalry. The two teams I most look forward to playing each year are WKU and New Mexico St. And right now, I’d consider the Aggies as bigger rivals than our neighbors to the west.

The difference between JMU and JSU isn't just their middle initial but the fact that JMU has actually won something of importance.

Ok
Well I apologize if I upset your fragile ego.
I say what I say with no animosity, its simply what I think, I did not realize NMSU fans were so tender.
I simply said liberty would win by 14 because when we played y'all we stink and y'all had difficulty beating us.
Liberty did not have to struggle when we stunk against them. We've suffered offensively all season and our defense saved us more than once.
Perhaps NMSU will win but I predict the opposite. Feel free to make your own prediction.

RE: CUSA CHAMPIONSHIP - NEW MEXICO ST. @ LIBERTY
CleburneSlim is right... with the exception of our running game against La Tech, JSU has been frustratingly inconsistent on offense all season. When we're on, we're OK. When we're off, we're terrible. And with the speed of our offense, those 3-and-outs came fast and furious when we weren't throwing Pick 6's. Our defense, which played well for most of the NMSU game, has been the only consistent bright spot all year.

So when we say we played a terrible game against NMSU, we're not ripping on NMSU. We're saying we played a freaking terrible game.

We played lights out against South Carolina, then fell on our old ways late in the game. The Pick 6 that sealed it for the lesser Gamecocks didn't surprise any of us. As soon as the DB caught the ball, we all just groaned and said, "Here we go again."

Yes, I know. We're bowl eligible with 8 wins. But as the App State/ECU fan said, in an attempt to troll us, we didn't beat anyone this year. Our victories all came against teams which struggled or underperformed in 2023. It was all we could do to beat UTEP, Sammy, and WKU. No one was impressed by us beating a MAC team.

I don't get the hate coming to us from NMSU fans. You guys are touchy as hell. The only fan base that's more fragile is still in FCS hoping for a CUSA invite. I won't mention them by name, lest they get offended as well. By the way, Aggies, I know this bothered you a lot when we brought it up, but you won the rights to your asterisk, so you're free to do with it what you will. Rip it to pieces, burn it, pee on it, bury the ashes far out in the most remote reaches of Chihuahuan Desert, and never look back. It can't hurt you anymore.

You earned this shot at Liberty outright, no asterisks attached.
