Biden* Apologized for Questioning Palestinian Death Toll Tallies
Quote:President Biden actually said something true in October, questioning the death tolls coming from the Hamas-controlled Gaza Ministry of Health as the Israel-Hamas war was heating up.

“I have no notion that the Palestinians are telling the truth about how many people are killed,” Biden said on October 25.

“I’m sure innocents have been killed, and it’s a price of waging war,” he added. Remember:

This being Joe Biden, it didn't take him long to backtrack like a crayfish and apologize for his remarks. According to the Washington Post, in a meeting the next day, the president expressed remorse and shame for noting that the Gaza Health Ministry could not be trusted:

The following day, Biden met with five prominent Muslim Americans, who protested what they saw as his insensitivity to the civilians who were dying. All spoke of people they knew who had been affected by the suffering in Gaza, including a woman who had lost 100 members of her family.

Biden appeared to be affected by their account. “I’m sorry. I’m disappointed in myself,” he told the group, according to two people familiar with the meeting. “I will do better.” The meeting, scheduled for 30 minutes, ended up lasting more than an hour, according to one White House official, and ended with Biden hugging one of the participants. [Emphasis mine.]

“I’m sorry. I’m disappointed in myself."

“I will do better.”

These are precisely the types of statements you don't want to hear come out of the mouth of your supposed leader. What's especially galling is that he's apologizing for saying the right thing. He would be incredibly naive—and that's a nice way of phrasing it—to believe a word that came out of Gaza as long as Hamas terrorists control the territory.

Just a week before Biden's meeting with the Muslim American leaders, Hamas had tried to pin an explosion at a Gaza hospital on Israel, falsely claiming that Israeli jets bombed the place into oblivion and killed hundreds. RedState's Bonchie called it "perhaps the worst war-time disinformation campaign in modern history."

Meanwhile, Hamas has repeatedly denied that it operates out of hospitals or keeps hostages in them, even though Israel keeps providing more and more evidence proving the opposite. They simply do not tell the truth.

The reason Biden apologized so quickly is not hard to fathom—he's terrified of losing Muslim and Arab support in swing states like Michigan during the '24 election season. He's also pandering to his leftist base, which has been busy defacing the White House, the New York Public Library, and other sites in their seemingly endless pro-Hamas protests. (They were at it again in the Big Apple Sunday, shutting down the Manhattan Bridge.)

Biden is in a mess of his own making, and there are multiple reports of turmoil within the administration and the DNC over the response to the October 7 Hamas terror attacks. There are some staffers who were appalled by the savagery of the assault and support Israel in its quest to exterminate the group, but there are others, particularly in the State Department, who are openly pro-Hamas and argue that Biden should be calling for a ceasefire.

There is a phrase, "Sleep with the enemy...," which basically means sleep with the enemy and bad things will eventually happen. By moving so far to the left since his inauguration, Biden has trapped himself and is now at their mercy.

When he has to apologize for saying something that is provably true, you know he's in a bad way.
