Man I hope Worthy didn't break a bone. Didn't look that bad, but where he was holding his lower leg was not good.

I think that there is a rule that the defensive subbing has only so many seconds, and obviously the D will take as long as the refs will give them; I don't think that the offense gets a clear idea of how quickly they have to get their changes made. I'd think there could be a gray area where the refs could call the delay on the D for dogging it, but what that is is not obvious, either to the fans/viewers or to the Off or Def.

This situation IMO shows a big flaw in giving bids to conference champs. Since conferences ignore OOC games, you can get a bad 3-loss OK State team that got routed by South Alabama in a CCG.

That's who his anger should be directed at. Not BYU, not OSU -- OU. They had their destiny in their hands and got beat by the better team in that game.
IMO, the deeper issue here really is the way OOC games get ignored in conference standings. This is how we get a garbage team like OK State in the title game. No team that gets blown out by South Alabama should be playing for a P5 title.
As for the OU - OK State game, IIRC there was a big missed PI call late that likely cost OU the game.

The D substituting has to “run” off the field but they don’t dictate how quickly they have to run.

This is a needless issue. If the officials are going to allow a substitution they need to stop the play clock until the last sub clears the field and then start it back up in the count.

If we are using crazy tie-breakers most years anyway, I wouldn’t be opposed to just taking overall record. Maybe count no more than 2 sub-P4 wins (similar to bowl eligibility rule) so OOC schedules are still respectable.

Texas actually did to ok st what everyone was predicting Oregon would do to Washington.
SEC ready.

They need to give them a reasonable time. That **** wasn't close to reasonable. If a player is gonna absolutely dog it like that, then the offense shouldn't be penalized.

RE: Game Thread: Big 12 CCG Texas vs OK State
Texas definitely made a statement. This is a program that under the right coaching staff should be an annual NC contender, and this team looks like one.
If ever there was a year for an 8-team playoff this is it. We could have Texas, Ohio State, Oregon and Alabama, all teams that have a realistic ability to win the CCG in a 3 round playoff out. But you can't displace what could well be four undefeated conference champions in Washington, Georgia, Michigan and Florida State.
Texas looked really impressive.

Disappointing.
The only time Texas fans should have chanted it was beating Arkansas, Missouri and A&M on their way out the door.
Every SWC team was chanting it the year Arkansas announced they were leaving (except SMU who was just off the death penalty).

I think it's a big shot in the arm for a once-proud fanbase that hasn't had much to cheer about in the past 15 years. Let the kids chant what they want, as long as it's not something offensive like "B1G".

Yes, that is true. Our last two trips to Stillwater have been marred by questionable calls. With that said, we (OU) should be good enough to beat both OSU and the Big 12 refs, and we weren't.
Texas had three close conference games (UH, KSU, TCU) that they were able to win. We weren't able to win two of ours (KU, OSU). That's the difference this year.
We lost two conference games to KU and OSU. Part of our fan base may cry foul over that, but that's what happened. We didn't deserve to play for a Big 12 championship.
We might have given Texas a better game, but it would have been difficult to beat them for a second time.

I was right there with the Longhorn fans on that.
Between the remarks Yormark made in Lubbock in the offseason, the clarification of the CCG tiebreakers (clear these up before the season, not 3/4 of the way through), and the questionable officiating, we're ready for July 1 and to finally assume that SEC patch.
