UGa falling from 1 to 6 (even though it’s inconsequential) is just not justifiable under any normal circumstances, other than shoe-horning an undefeated P5 champ in there, whatever that means going forward. This is not a vintage Dabo Clemson team without Travis back there.

I think I agree. I predicted a couple weeks ago that an SEC champ Alabama would vault Texas, and it’s possible that they still would. However, after that miracle escape against a .500 Auburn team that was blown out by NM State the week before…I think it would be a 4 way race between Ohio St, Texas, Alabama and Georgia. I’d probably lean Texas there, despite my bias against them, but you could make a strong case for any of the others, too.

I don’t think Alabama would get punished for the close Iron Bowl win. The Iron Bowl is just different. Records do not matter in that game. Besides, Auburn probably practiced for Alabama for two weeks instead of preparing for NMSU.

Alabama this year is remarkably similar to Alabama from last year. They beat A&M by 6, Arky by 3, Georgia by 3, and Auburn by 3. They looked horrible against USF, though they eventually won by 14.

It's not the Auburn struggle, it's the whole season. I think that Texas, Bama, and Georgia are clearly the 3 best of the 1 loss teams. None of them has a sweep of the other 2, and if you go and look at every single game then I think you have to give Georgia the edge over the other 2. Georgia won the SEC regular season Title. They had 4 common opponents with Alabama and beat all 4 of them more convincingly, in some cases much more convincingly, than Alabama did. They lost a nail-biter by 3 points to Alabama. Alabama had a whole bunch of very close games against pedestrian opponents and lost by 10 to Texas. Texas? They were very good this year, but they were only 1-0 against the top 10, while both Georgia and Alabama were 2-1. The big thing for Texas to hang their hat on is "we beat Alabama", which would quite possibly get them in if it was just a conversation of "Texas vs Alabama", but when you throw in Georgia...I think I'd pick Georgia, as weird as that sounds.

What concerns me is if the Committee were to decide that all 3 of Georgia, Texas and Alabama were roughly equivalent. In that case, Texas has the best record against the other 2 at 1-0 to push them ahead of Alabama and they have a Conference title to push them ahead of Georgia. Sankey must be pulling his hair out right now. What there is left of it ofc. 03-lmfao

Yeah, I don't see how you put Florida State in.

Even with Travis they were a distant fourth at best. The ACC is just bad.

Me too. Michigan loses and I think UGA can crawl back in. If FSU is 'out' for those reasons, they won't let a Michigan loss put them back in.

The bolded part is wrong. There isn’t a regular season SEC champion. Georgia won the SEC East Division Title and Alabama won the SEC West Division Title. Both Alabama and Georgia finished with 8-0 SEC records in the regular season.

Booger nailed the argument for leaving Bama out.

I mean… Harbaugh versus Saban? You are going to leave that out though? This is what makes the four team playoff great (along with the CCGs). But it’s all over after Sunday’s Selection Show.

only problem is Booger doesn't have what the criteria is. It's the best 4 and not the most deserving 4.

FSU absolutely deserves to be left out.

She started strong and then missed a few. I thought she was going to win midway through! She threw two-handed and faster while he used a regular passing stroke and two in a row but took a pause to re-load. He won by 5 but it was closer most of the time.

Alabama gets punished for losing to Texas by double digits in Tuscaloosa. The SEC could be on the outside looking in if FSU finishes 13-0.
