Washington is a lock.
Michigan is a lock.
Texas is a 'more or less' lock.

SO...

Let Bama and FSU play in two weeks to determine who gets the fourth spot...

..well, yeah, but this would have been the best solution...

Committee could have just said, "We have a tie at #4, thus a 'play-in game' will be required"... ...would anyone have had a problem with it? OR the extra $$$$ it would have generated?

Not arguing the fact that the SEC needs to have a representative in the playoffs, and, you can argue that Bama isn't the same as they were in September (yeah, the Iron Bowl, but Jordan-Hare is Kryptonite to Sa-Bear 03-drunk ) ...as much as the FSU team is offensively hindered presently... ...honestly a Bama/FSU play-in game would have been awesome, as FSU looks to have one of the top defenses in the country.

I DO agree this will 'expedite the process' of FSU and whomever else exiting the ACC, no matter the $$$$ ramifications... ...and the B1G would seem to be the destination now... Lawyer up, y'all... 05-stirthepot05-stirthepot05-stirthepot

My old playoff format would have been 5+1+2. Florida State, Georgia, and a Missouri-Ohio State wild card winner make the playoff (oh, and with whomever is the G5 rep).

Great idea. Force FSU to lose it on the field. Would break quite a few NCAA rules though. Gotta wait til next year.

Why stop at 1 play-in game? Why don't Georgia and Ohio St deserve a play-in game too?

Wash VS Ohio St
FSU VS bama
Tex VS Georgia

Throw in Oregon vs. Michigan for good measure, and pair Liberty vs. Missouri in another bowl.
