Jalen Green Voted First team AP All-America
Congrats to Jalen!
And another first for JMU with its first AP All-American.
Kimani Vidal was 3rd team RB.

Congrats to Jalen, especially considering he missed several games. Also, Vidal may have been 2nd team if not for the Dukes shutting him down (11-27 & 0 TDs).

Hope Jalen has a quick recovery/rehab period and gets some pro opportunities. He seems determined to push forward. Think he views the injury as a roadbump.

Huge news, the casual fan probably can't appreciate how difficult it is for a G5 athlete to make 1st team in football. This is great for Jalen but huge for future recruiting as we have a new data point to market.

I’m still amazed he had 5 sacks over 38 games in his first 3 years combined and then he had an All-American season for the ages in only 9 games.
Crazy quantum leap in performance.

He’s a senior that’s exhausted all eligibility, he doesn’t need to declare for the draft.

Believe all players whether declaring early or at end of college career have to officially declare. Not on social media but hey do have to enter their name in consideration.

I don’t believe that is true. They know who has exhausted eligibility and who has opted in early, if they want you they will pick you. There is nothing out there indicating you must declare for the draft unless you are an underclassman and are giving up remaining eligibility.
https://operations.nfl.com/journey-to-th...the-draft/
Quote: PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the draft, players must have been out of high school for at least three years and must have used up their college eligibility before the start of the next college football season. Underclassmen and players who have graduated before using all their college eligibility may request the league’s approval to enter the draft early.
Players are draft-eligible only in the year after the end of their college eligibility.
Before the draft, NFL Player Personnel staff members confirm the eligibility of draft prospects; that means researching the college backgrounds of approximately 3,000 college players each year. They work with NCAA compliance departments at schools across the country to verify the information for all prospects. They also check the rosters of college all-star games to make sure that only draft-eligible players play in the games.
The Player Personnel staff also review all of the applications submitted by players who want to enter the draft early. Underclassmen have until seven days following the NCAA National Championship Game to declare their intentions to do so. For the 2017 NFL Draft, 106 undergraduates received NFL approval to enter the draft, as did 13 players who graduated without using up all their college eligibility.
Once players have become draft-eligible or have declared their intention to enter the draft early, the Player Personnel staff work with teams, agents and schools to clarify the players’ status. They also work with agents, schools, scouts and teams to enforce league rules for Pro Days (where NFL scouts come to colleges to observe prospects) and private workouts.
During the draft, Player Personnel staff confirm that all players who are drafted are draft-eligible.

Jalen Green did not receive an invite to the NFL combine. One of the biggest snubs.

Where is he in his injury recovery process? He may have not been fully cleared yet. He just needs to focus on his pro day

I'm sure there will be a lot of teams that will look to bring him in for a private workout as well. As long as his recovery is going well, he will get a shot.
