Tops were up by 20 at one point. 03-banghead

Not scoring in the last 5 minutes and hanging on to win on the road— that’s a rare feat. TBH, I didn’t expect WKU to win this one going in.

Well, you guys found a way to "almost" lose tonight. We've been finding every which way to "almost" win... its four games and counting. Instead of being 5-8, we could easily be 9-4 right now, if we played a little smarter during the final stretch.

This was a long road trip of over 2k miles and 2 time zones from home. Broadcast said team got to the hotel at 3am central Monday night, which was obvious had played a factor late in this game. We were as high as 5.5 point dogs coming into this one, got up as much 20, and won outright by 3. Taking that every day. Our biggest issue right now is also our greatest strength. We play the now 3rd fastest pace in the country, and it’s hard to slow down a sped up horse. These guys only know one way, Go! If we can shore up our late game clock and possession management and just lightly tap the breaks, we have a chance to be pretty good this year.

I thought they said Western arrived at 3am but had a full day before the game. I know foul trouble played a role in this but I thought it was the worse bench coaching of the season the last 3 minutes. Western was up 12 with 4 to play and Marshall should have been on the floor instead of Fye and Allen instead of Kalambay because you had to know fouls were coming. I understand Jalen Jackson had to be on the floor because of Lander being out.

WAC sits three spots ahead of us in NET at the moment. Recall some people scoffing preseason at notion that’d they’re on our level. We need to go 2-1 at least tonight. Hope the Kats can pull their weight against GCU.

I don't think anyone predicted MT and NMSU in the 300's. If they were up to their normal level--we would be ahead of the WAC.

THAT is TWO teams who are normally high--at almost "all-time" lows. Hard to offset that in Conf. NET.

I STILL scoff that they are at our level (over time). Our schools have much more tradition, potential, and investment in BB than the current WAC (except GCU). How many times did NMSU win the WAC? Just let us catch our breath and recover.

I think we all knew this year was going to be a rebuilding year for several programs but the basketball value of this league long term is very good. This is the first time in 30 years that WKU has been in a conference where nearly all schools in the league value basketball. Those that are down, won't be down long. That's one of the primary reasons I'm hopeful for this league.

UTEP dodges a bullet at home by 2 over Norfolk St..

La Tech gets a loss in OT at Seattle. If I were CUSA I would not send a team to that gym next year. What a piece of "work". I've seen a lot of places and most middle school gyms would top that DUMP. A DI school should not be sent to a place like that. Tech would beat that team by 20 at home. What a Joke. If CUSA is subjected to this kind of bush league facility--then I would Not even consider renewing the two year deal. Their "facility" makes FIU look like a palace.

It's funny that you say that about Seattle U. The only loss the TWC natl champions was to them at Seattle. They were probably playing in the same gym.

They also have a final four to their name. They do play a handful of games at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.

What a win for JAX State at Little Rock! (Any JSU BB fans here?)

90-60 win over at a LR teams who was not that bad. Gamecocks outscored the Trojans (now OVC) in the second half 56-30!

Not much into basketball or baseball. Football is pretty much the only one I follow very close.

FIU wins! 82-74 at home over Maine.

If UTEP can beat the Cowboys--CUSA could go 3-0 tonight.

Two old WAC rivals, both mediocre. But it's nice to get the win. I don't foresee many more this year.

NMSU at Tulsa tonight. Up by 8 mid first half. Playing good but staying consistent has been our Achilles heel. Hopefully we can keep it going.

Aggies hold on to a 4-point half time lead. Playing well now but will need to play much better in the 2nd half to win this game.

Oh... sorry... I'm here.

I just haven't been HERE. Holidays and stuff. Not much time for the old internets.

I've been very, VERY pleased by the Gamecocks' progress this season. I was expecting it to be a struggle, but they're way ahead of schedule. If they keep progressing at this rate, some of you may grow to hate us by the time the CUSA schedule gets underway.
