This is for Liberty fans, did you third string QB enter the portal? If anything Pavia is better than anything we have now including Mcconnell. We need a running back that can throw also and Pavia is one of those.

Our 2nd string QB, Jonathan Bennett, entered the portal and transferred down to an FCS team.

I understand the circumstances surrounding his decision. Health comes first and I’m sure he wants to spend quality time with his family. Can’t blame him for that.

Huge downgrade from Kill to Sanchez, NMSU couldnt try to hire someone else? Hopefully short contract for a failed retread in Sanchez. WKU has offered every Portal QB.

The hire was odd, looks like a buddy hire. Kill proved you can win at NMSU.

Since WSU isn't one of the lucky ones to leave for another conference I'd figure that Pavia would want to go there as he would be playing against MWC teams instead of the Cartel. Much easier to win against G5 where he just left or wants to.

The head scratcher was UNLV hiring Sanchez straight out of high school as their head coach. That's virtually unheard of for an FBS program to hire a head coach out of the high school ranks, albeit Sanchez was a very successful HS head coach at the time. However, now after 5 years at UNLV as a college head coach "in training" and three years at Jerry Kill's side, learning what he knows, maybe Sanchez has learned enough now to possibly succeed at NMSU. I guess we will all find out.

What a last season for Kill. I wish he was staying for one more. Brought NMST from the dead and showed everyone that you can win anywhere. What a wonderful story and the perfect way to go out.
