Nice win for Arizona! Not sure its Nebraska in 1998 but it provides some good mojo heading into the offseason.

Arizona 38, Oklahoma 24. Arizona finishes 10-3. Jedd Fisch has done a terrific job at UA. A really good guy and you could see it coming a few years ago.

Arizona and Arizona State have been REALLY up and down the last 30-40 years (maybe longer, just going from personal reference). I've been hearing about the Sun Devils potential forever yet institutional culture prevents it. 1996 was awesome but otherwise? The "Desert Swarm" defense will always be tied to my youth and generally speaking the Wildcats were pretty good in the 1990s overall. 1999 was an epic letdown though after 1998. That two quarterback system in 1998 was such a sensation....

I could be wrong, but I believe Arizona has never played in the Rose Bowl and Arizona St only once. Amazing to think about in their 40+ year history in the PAC

In their 46 years in the PAC, Arizona shared won one PAC title, in 1993 and as you say never played in the Rose Bowl.

Arizona State won two PAC titles, in 1986 and 1996, and went to the Rose Bowl both years. They lost the 1996 Rose Bowl to an Ohio State team coached by John Cooper.

In 1986, they defeated Michigan in the Rose Bowl while being coached by ... John Cooper.

And if your first time starter tries to stay in the pocket for 15-20 seconds bad things will happen. Turnovers, 7 holding penalties. Don’t think OU had 7 holding penalties in any SEASON in Big 12. Of course Big 12 doesn’t really believe you can hold on passing plays.
