I'd like to see them utilize a continuous drone monitoring presence over Yemen with a pair of Hornets loaded for ground strike via long range missile always on station. That way, the moment an anti-ship missile is launched, the launcher gets quickly destroyed by the Hornets.
Not a bad idea. But I would start with a plan to destroy all their known ammo depots and kill their leaders.

RE: U.S. Engaged; Middle East War Expands
The concept of proportional response is the dumbest part of so-called just war theory. Another--and far more sensible--concept is probability os success. Basically, a just war must be initiated by competent authority, for a just cause, as a last resort, and with a high probability of success. Proportional response basically precludes that high probability of success, ensuring instead a winless quagmire. If I meet your force with equal or proportional force, the result should be a tie.
Never fight a war that you don't intend to win. Go in with overwhelming force, or don't go in at all.

RE: U.S. Engaged; Middle East War Expands
BREAKING: Iran Bombs U.S. Consulate, Takes Credit in Massive Escalation
Quote:In what is a massive escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, Iran reportedly bombed a U.S. consulate in Northern Iraq on Monday. Several videos have gone viral claiming to show the moment of impact, though confirmation of their authenticity is still being gathered. The consulate was just one of eight different locations targeted, according to sources inside Iraq.
Several explosions were reported near the U.S. Consulate in Erbil, Iraq, an Iraqi security source told ABC News.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps quickly took responsibility for the attacks, saying it was targeting the "headquarters of spies" and "anti-Iranian terrorist gatherings in parts of the region" with ballistic missiles.
Coalition forces also shot down three drones near Erbil airport in Iraq, the source said.
It is worth noting that some videos have already been debunked. For example, the following clip has gone viral claiming to be from the attack, but it is actually a 2022 video of a C-RAM intercept.
Still, other videos do appear to be genuine, including these showing missiles being launched from inside Iran.
What makes this so unique compared to past attacks is that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps has taken direct credit for the attack. Normally, you'd see these kinds of assaults carried about by Iranian-backed proxy militias, and Iran itself would be careful to not be caught with its hand on the button. In this case, the IRGC isn't leaving anything to the imagination, saying they were targeting "headquarters of spies" while striking at "anti-Iranian terrorist gatherings."
How will the Biden administration respond to this? Technically, this is an act of war. That doesn't mean the United States has to rush into a full-scale conflict, but clearly, some kind of response is going to be warranted. This is a developing story.

We take out their naval base at Bandar Abbas, from which their harassing operations in the Strait of Hormuz and Arabian Sea are based, and whatever submarine facility they have at Ra's Jask. Then tell them maybe Teheran is next.

RE: U.S. Engaged; Middle East War Expands
If you want to openly take out Irans nuclear program---the Revolutionary Guard has presented the US with the opportunity to blast it into centrifuge dust without Iran being able to say much about given that an arm of the Iranian government has proudly claimed responsibility for a direct attack on the US embassy (which, unlike a base in Iraq----an embassy is actually considered sovereign US territory). The US now has a freebie. They let Iran off scott free last time they admitted to launching a major state sponsored attack on an American air base 3 years ago. The Iranian nuclear program is a military target and--assuming its not located in an urban area---it seems like a chance to really accomplish something of note---while still being a very limited pinpoint strike using relatively few weapons.

I see the hearts and minds of Americans has officially moved in from Ukraine then next expensive boondoggle that we just have to be in.
Let the borrowing begin! Or continue, I guess I should say.

If a person takes off his clothes in the middle of the road and starts howling at the moon—you have the option to just drive by and ignore that person. If the same naked person jumps into your car and starts howling at moon—-you’re kinda forced to deal with it.

US recovers Iranian warheads after Navy SEALS go missing on mission to intercept them: report
Quote:During the ship-boarding mission that went awry with two missing Navy SEALs last week, US forces recovered Iranian warheads off the coast of Yemen.
The mission was disrupted when a Navy SEAL fell off the side of a ship as a result of rough waters. Another went in after him, as is policy with the SEALs, and they still have not been found as of Tuesday morning.
US forces had been searching for an Iranian shipment of weaponry and some of the confiscated material from the ship containing the military arms held Iranian warheads, according to an official who spoke to the Washington Post.
A huge search and rescue operation has been taking place off the coast of Yemen in the Gulf of Aden to find the missing SEALs. As of this report, they are yet to be identified.
As operations for the search and rescue began, other US troops searched the vessel that was allegedly transporting Iranian arms to Yemen. When the team boarded the ship, a crew of about a dozen were taken into custody and weaponry onboard was confiscated by US forces.
The warhead and other weaponry that was intercepted last week were going to be transferred into Yemen, one US official told the outlet. The Pentagon remains hopeful that the SEALs will be found alive.
The events highlight the struggle the Biden administration has had controlling the actions of Houthi terrorists in the region of Yemen with the added anti-Israel sentiment the administration has dealt with domestically.
Houthis in the Red Sea have been causing havoc related to shipments, through which about 10 percent of all world trade passes.
Last week, the Biden administration, after weeks of dealing with the attacks, bombed the Houthis in Yemen. Afterwards, the White House was descended upon by one of the largest anti-Israel protests that has occurred since October 7, when a mob attempted to rip down and scale the security fence guarding the building in protest of the retaliation of the bombings.

Bidet will send a strongly worded letter. Maybe send out the bright lights, like Winken Blinken and Nod.
That ought to scare them into stopping.

I wonder if the Biden administration is lying abut the two Seal team soldiers supposedly missing? While boarding a Somali junker carrying missile parts from Iran the two were reported to have fallen overboard. Who here buys this lie?
