"Communist Party USA,[9] anti–Vietnam War organizers, activists of the civil rights and Black power movements (e.g., Martin Luther King Jr., the Nation of Islam, and the Black Panther Party), environmentalist and animal rights organizations, the American Indian Movement (AIM), Chicano and Mexican-American groups like the Brown Berets and the United Farm Workers, independence movements (including Puerto Rican independence groups such as the Young Lords and the Puerto Rican Socialist Party), a variety of organizations that were part of the broader New Left"
That enough?
How about these?
"Amidst the urban unrest of July–August 1967, the FBI began "COINTELPRO–BLACK HATE", which focused on King and the SCLC, as well as the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), the Revolutionary Action Movement (RAM), the Deacons for Defense and Justice, Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), and the Nation of Islam.[42] BLACK HATE established the Ghetto Informant Program and instructed 23 FBI offices to "disrupt, misdirect, discredit, or otherwise neutralize the activities of black nationalist hate type organizations".[43]"
FBI has been executing this playbook for years.
"A March 1968 memo stated the program's goal was to "prevent the coalition of militant black nationalist groups"; to "Prevent the RISE OF A 'MESSIAH' who could unify ... the militant black nationalist movement"; "to pinpoint potential troublemakers and neutralize them before they exercise their potential for violence [against authorities]"; to "Prevent militant black nationalist groups and leaders from gaining RESPECTABILITY, by discrediting them to ... both the responsible community and to liberals who have vestiges of sympathy"; and to "prevent the long-range GROWTH of militant black organizations, especially among youth". Dr. King was said to have potential to be the "messiah" figure, should he abandon nonviolence and integrationism,[44] and Kwame Ture was noted to have "the necessary charisma to be a real threat in this way" as he was portrayed as someone who espoused a much more militant vision of "black power".[45] While the FBI was particularly concerned with leaders and organizers, they did not limit their scope of target to the heads of organizations. Individuals such as writers were also listed among the targets of operations.[46]"
So, these groups you have named have much in common with the middle-aged people walking thru the Capital on J6?
This is my fault, I thought there was common cause to be had on the FBI's abuses of power. You clearly don't care about that, just want them to abuse their power against the groups you prefer.

If you can draw a moral equivalency (in your mind) between the nation of Islam, Communists, Black Panthers, etc. and the J6 protestors, then have at it I guess.

If you are okay with illegal abuses of power by the FBI as long as it's against groups you don't like then this is where you eventually end up. Doesn't matter whether I personally find J6 protestors sympathetic or not, the FBI infiltrating their groups and trying to foment violence and create conditions of crimes to allow them to be arrested is wrong and shouldn't be allowed. Everything the right is complaining about the FBI doing is in their playbook they've been executing for decades, and it's awful and should be stopped.

If they are using tactics to tear apart groups like the Nation of Islam and Communists, I'm all for it. Yes sir.
If they are using these tactics against individual citizens, then we are in agreement.

I think the consensus is that the FBI (as part of the problem) is made up of a bunch of control freaks seeking to keep the population 'in line'. It has little to do with left/right, other than the fact that the push back against these unelected officials is coming from the right and the current leadership comes from the left.
