So, I think this will happen (and it definitely should), but I haven't seen any confirmation of this.
Probably won’t be officially announced until they lose in the ACCT.

What in the hell? That makes zero sense. He would have been better off taking the ODU job than DePaul.

The Big East is attractive to coaches and he's familiar with the area. They promised him some more support. Who wants to coach hoops in Oklahoma :)

Moser denies Depaul discussions. If he ends up at Depaul, he's going to look like a clown.

DePaul is the biggest dumpster fire in the nation. And their competition is brutal. They might be a door mat for a long time.

You have got to be kidding me. I get it that you are the world's biggest Big East homer, but DePaul is one of the worst jobs in the country and is certainly the worst job that would be available to him. Dude must have really enjoyed his time in Chiraq.

Why would he be interested in Depaul?

Too much self confidence? Stupidity? No idea, that was my whole point. He has a better chance of competing for championships in the SEC with Oklahoma than he does competing for Big East championships at DePaul. Its absurd, which is probably why he is saying its not a thing.

Well- Oklahoma really isn't giving him support and are not showing up to games. They aren't giving him as much NIL as he was reportedly promised.
Depaul could offer him a downtown stadium, a new $60 million practice facility, and 3 million in NIL money. The new AD is providing resources for the new coach. They have the largest alumni base of any Catholic School and deep pockets.
Similar conference strength, loves living in Chicago, has resources to compete in the Big East. I have no idea if its true, but the person that reported it seems to typically be spot on.

The people leaking the rumor are doubling down. But it definitely seems like it was a leverage move on Porters part.

Im very surprised he came out with his statement, but if he stays, he can claim he wasn't in contact with them even if he was.
But, if he leaves, he looks silly but so do all the other coaches that say this. "ah, they must have contacted my agent, I was focusing on the tourney."

Did that alumni base just recently materialize, cuz they've sucked for a long time.

DePaul is the largest private school in the Big East. They have an 80 million $ arena and announced a 60 million dollar practice facility. Their alumni base is full of cash and supposedly like the new AD, which is why they are getting so much money.

Notre Dame’s athletic’s program had Earnings of $215million and expenses of $172 million. A profit of $44 million. A PROFIT.
DePaul’s athletic budget was $33.6 million with expenses of $33.6 million.
Notre Dames PROFIT on sports exceeded DePaul’s entire athletic budget.
Just because you have more alumni does not mean they have the cash. Ask any good Catholic boy from Chicago WHERE he’d rather go to college.
The annual cost to attend DePaul has more to do with their size of the alumni base than anything. DePaul’s annual cost is $41,000. Notre Dame’s $59,700.
