W-OSU football only, what it might look like
They appear to be putting their Olympic sports in the WCC which leaves their football needing a permanent home. I do find it telling that they chose the WCC and not the MWC, they plan on getting into a P conference in football only. Can the ACC accommodate them?

The 5 western expansion teams could play each other in 4 games. That leaves another 4 conference games each (20 total). It would have been a total of 18 games that needed to be filled without W-OSU, so it's not that much more football travel for the 14 East schools and much less travel for Stan and Cal.

If FSU is gone, the ACC can drop down to 7 conference games and reduce travel that much more. The math works out this way so we don't have an odd man out in the number of conference games.

Gonzaga isn't too far from those guys, hint, hint.

Gonzaga would be the glue that keeps W-OSU in the WCC. The ACC needs to pinch it's pennies, not opposed to Gonzaga if the ACC can form a true western wing that keeps each side of the conference in their own territory (most of the time).

The SEC should definitely add Gonzaga. Gives Kentucky someone to play with, gives the SEC a PTZ presence for hoops, and it's MUCH closer to Missouri than it is to Louisville.

The SEC has no outpost on the West Coast. The ACC has two.

Which is why the SEC needs one. Every other major conference covers at least 3 time zones.

Oregon State, Washington State and the Mountain West announced a football scheduling agreement Friday for the 2024 season that gives the two remaining Pac-12 schools six opponents each and positions them to operate as a two-team conference for at least a year.

RE: W-OSU football only, what it might look like
In recent memory both have had a couple of really bad seasons of 1 or 2 wins in a conference that played 9 conference games and was generally better or more well regarded than the ACC. I'd adjust their floor to 3 wins at worst, 9 wins at best, 6-7 wins being the normal expectation. I figured they would typically win 3 OOC games and win 3-4 games in conference. I believe they will typically lose to their rivals UO and UW 75% of the time.

Would adding 2 teams that will typically get lower tier bowls be additive? Could they be talked into each taking 20% of a full share for the next 8 years and after that split a full share until 2036? Keep in mind, it's for football ONLY. Would these conditions be worth taking them on? I'd think yes.

RE: W-OSU football only, what it might look like
OWSU probably made a good choice with the WCC if they really don't want to ever be full MWC members (and I don't think they do). I believe they also have agreed not to poach MWC schools to rebuild the PAC without paying a significant penalty. That leaves them looking for a football home either in the ACC or the Big 12 if they don't want to stay indy in FB.

Joining the ACC FB only may be a better option than joining the Big 12 FB only if the Big 12 has let them know they aren't interested. It's not worth as much as Calistan and SMU from the standpoint of adding populous states to the ACCN, but at least they don't duplicate other ACC states.

If the SEC were to find a way to take FSU, Clemson, plus one or two more from the ACC, this would make even more sense.

Football-only at reduced shares could work - and it might make Cal and Stanford feel more at home (as if).

I'm being realistic, the ACC could still profit from their inclusion especially if they are willing to take half shares as the norm, just like UO and UW did in the BigTen. They also both bring a nice late night rivalry weekend game. There is no guarantee that UW would dominate WSU, could be closer to 50/50, same with OSU and UO, the ACC has southern and Texas recruits as an advantage.

At this point the ACC should just get to 20 football schools and have 4 divisions of 5. The ACC is not taking Memphis, so I'd go with UConn and get the ACC's basketball rep back on track.

SMU, Stan, Cal, OSU, WSU

UNC, Duke, UVA, Wake, VT

FSU, Clem, NCSU, GT, UConn/Tulane

UM, SU, BC, Pitt, UL

Was trying to get the old BE back together and have some balance. UConn is a little bit of an odd man in football and it would not be a bad thing to have an easy win in the most difficult pod.
