Next Year's Football Sched. - Your opinion - what is your team's biggest "trap game"?
In looking at the newly released football schedule, what game jumps out at you for your team as being the biggest "trap game"? And why?

In my opinion, for Louisville it is ....

October 5 -- SMU in Louisville.

We play SMU after visiting Notre Dame in South Bend. After we BEAT the Irish (to take a 3-2 series lead mind you) I think the potential for the Cards to come out a little flat is high. AND ... Brohm usually has a head-scratching-loss each season, last year being a down Pitt Panther squad. So SMU could come in to Louisville and leave with a victory.

Now ... having said all that ...

Looking at SMU's schedule .... they have two huge games in back-to-back weeks (TCU and Florida State) before coming to Louisville ... so ... it's not like they're sneaking into this game with us. BOTH teams could be a little flat at the start of this one.

I am looking forward to this game. Should be fun!

04-cheers

FSU vs UNC 11/2/24. It's between Miami and ND.

ACC Football Schedule

RIVALRY WEEK LOOKS LIT:

BC vs Pitt - traditional Eastern Indies

Syracuse vs Miami - former Big East battle

Louisville vs UK

UVa vs VaTech

Wake vs Dook

Carolina vs State (should be vs Dook, but alas)

Clemson vs USC

GaTech vs UGa

FSU vs Florida

Stanford vs SJSU - this will be their 68th meeting

Cal vs SMU - they had to play somebody!

This is a pretty good sign that Notre Dame vs Stanford will continue as the scheduling office said: The Cal-SMU game is set for Week 14 and will remain on the final weekend of the regular season moving forward.

This makes room for Stanford to alternate with USC for a ND date.

Slow your roll... it may just be that they didn't have enough time to adjust their schedule. Time will tell, but I'm still expecting Stanford to become just part of the rotation.

IDK I think ND will schedule Stanford OOC and the ACCN should DEF air that game when it's in Palo Alto.

It kind of comes down to ND's desire to continue the series (why not?) vs the rest of the conference agreeing to give up ND dates (unlikely).

I take that back, ND can continue to play FSU as a member of a P2 conference.

For VT, we play at Miami one week and then at Stanford the next.
2 long road trips back to back.
That was the only oddity I saw other than the ACC playing 8 Thursday games and 6 Friday games.

Our schedule sucks this year.

Only one home game after October 19th. 3 out of the last 4 are on the road. BC, Clemson and Stanford in back to back weeks before coming home to face Pitt before closing out the season at Kentucky.

Two non-conference road games in the same season will mess up anybody's home schedule!

The Hokies have the same situation OOC, but a different schedule problem: the first home ACC game isn't until 10/17! Two of the first three games are away, and four of the first six!

Yep, nobody has to worry about the Cards getting to the ACC Championship game.

Huh.

More trolling about FSU leaving the conference. Totally out of the blue and uncalled for in an absolutely unrelated thread. An attempt to derail the thread and shift focus to FSU.

Mods, I hope you notice a pattern here.
