His MAGAt sycophants and disciples won't care.

They won't care if he's found guilty in all four trials he's up for.

He's their Great White Hope.

I mean most freshman civics students are aware that Congress is in charge of the nations spending.

But to your points, yes Trump is much further to the left on the political spectrum than supporters on either side want to ever admit to themselves.

Trump was a Democrat until he decided (after "The Apprentice") he wanted to be president but then realized he couldn't beat an African-American man (Obama) or white woman (Hillary Clinton) in that party.

So he became a faux-conservative Republican, willing to say or do most anything to get elected (or now get re-elected, stay in power) tapping in to the disaffected white Christian nationalist "movement" that now makes up his MAGAt base.

Yea he's not really a Republican or a Democrat. Whichever will serve his purposes will do.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Trump has changed both the Rep and Dem party. The blue collar working class that used to vote democrat is now voting for Trump, as is more and more blacks & latinos. And the many of the never Trump republicans (Romney, Cheney) now would vote for a Democrat.

I never liked the logic in this argument. Trump added trillions so I don't have to do anything about it, so I can keep adding to it too. It is like the immigration argument, Trump broke it, well fix it then.

If a bought a house with broken windows I would fix them and not say they were already there.

RE: Trump Added Trillions to Debt
1) paying down debt was a decade plan.
2) $7.8 trillion was from new initiatives and White House policies.
It was offset by $3.9 trillion in savings.
3) Largest debt drivers were:
$3.9 trillion in Pandemic Relief
$2.0 trillion in 2017 Tax Cuts
$1.67 trillion Congressional rescinding of budget caps(bipartisan):
a) Defense spending $761 billion
b) Non-defense spending(VA benefits, housing, environment,etc.) $681billion

More to the point - If Trump is re-elected,

Will HE fix it?

Trump couldn't quote any of those figures or even know where they came from.

There are always excuses. Temporary tax cuts for workers and permanent tax cuts for corporations. Nice. And with all the "wasteful spending", "bureaucrats", "big government" complaints you would think the military would be one of the first items on the chopping block considering we're spending close to a trillion dollars and we aren't even in a war. If not, we have to be willing to pay taxes to cover all that.
